If so, what do you call one individual dumpling?
That's the confusing part, we call one Pierogi a Pieróg. But if you say "Pieróg" people will think you mean the baked stuff aka Kulebiak.
I think there isn't any confusion, because the context should always make it clear what you're talking about. I mean, you would only reference 1 pierogi if you had a bunch on your plate and you were pointing one out, right? So everyone should know what you mean when you use the word in that context.
Mind you a dumpling like the one you linked might not be grouped under "pierogi". I'm not sure, but the asian variety are called something else, I think.
The one you linked also looks closer to Uszka, which are basically small pierogies we put in soup. I think they might be technically pierogi, but nobody would call them that.
Hey, maybe pierogi can bridge the gap between our two countries and improve relations a bit.
