Trump explained - because you all are blind

Someone needs to explain to Trumpsters what a lie is. Here's some snippets from the linked-to article:

In sum, Ms Rowling did not lie; she did not refuse.
`

Update: Rowling has now tweeted a correction and has apologized to the boy and his family.

civver: Your charts are from a far-right, anti-immigrant site, which makes them highly suspect.

What are you basing this on?

Full report.
Do these costs include the costs of prisons for immigrant criminals?

I'm just asking out of idle curiosity.

Eh? You said 'a fraction of the cost'. That does not look a fraction of the cost at all.

That's only because you don't understand the issue.

The bulk of the spending in the charts you posted are going to citizen children of immigrants - not immigrants, but to U.S. citizens. Classifying households based on an arbitrarily designated "head" is meaningless.

More to the point, those children receiving benefits will grow up. They will become productive members of society, which is the whole reason we invest in TANF and WIC and CHIP in the first place. The eventual payback for that spending will be many times the input.

Also, your conservatism-poisoned brain ought to wrap itself around this little tidbit:

"84 percent of immigrant households already contain a worker (vs. 73 percent of native households)." Who are the freeloaders now??

"84 percent of immigrant households already contain a worker (vs. 73 percent of native households)." Who are the freeloaders now??

There is little point in attempting to use facts in a discussion like this. The territory has already been staked out - "they're coming and stealing from us" is not a position that is based on facts or reasoning, it's just racist lunacy. The vast inconsistency between this anti-immigrant position and his Rothbardian fantasies just adds to the hilarity of it.

:

Look, this is easily explained.

The workers in the immigrant households get paid substantially less.

Therefore, they're the freeloaders. QED.

Mowing lawns and childcare aren't really jobs anyway. The migrants should be paying their employers. Not the other way round.

Eh? You said 'a fraction of the cost'. That does not look a fraction of the cost at all.

Or were you talking from the perspective of a business owner? Because I agree, it's a good deal for them, but taxpayers should not be expected to subsidize their employees.

The net cost to get someone into the position where they're working in our economy, becoming net contributors. A newborn citizen costs tens of thousands of dollars to get them to the point where they're working. If an immigrant (honestly, I am thinking of refugees at this point) requires a bit of help getting started, then it will still be cheaper than the alternative way to get that worker.

Children are our future!

They're also our past. The human race has done so much evil. Perhaps we should just hang it up entirely?

But with Trump banning science, you just know the Germans are going to launch their spaceship first. We're going to have to steal tech if we want to keep up.

The Germans are keeping their tech slider at 10% in the name of austerity though. We've got a shot.

That's true. And the foolish AI went all the way down the dead-end "Fake Diesel Emissions" branch of the tech tree. Cost them many crucial turns.

There has been a diesel emissions downturn of course.

Swiftly followed by a "let's all build electric vehicles" upturn.

That's all a big conspiracy of China and Chili, because they have the best resources for battery technology.
The German diesel injection engine technology was unmatched and needed to be attacked.
So impossible emission values were pushed on the car manufacturers that they only accepted as lip service to buy time.

;)

This is a sentiment so endlessly proven to be counterfactual, it could be part of an executive tweet.

I don't like the idea that it's austerity that causes low science investment. Government is just one wing of society's science investment. Taxes are drawn off of profits. What really matters is how those profits are spent on science, not who spends them.

I'm not just talking charity. Are companies investing in their employees and customers with education? How are people spending their spare time? People choosing to watch Netflix vs free lectures isn't 'austerity'. It's a society choosing consumption over investment

Evidently Trump has twice recently claimed someone said something, which they immediately refuted. He said that the President of Mexico called him to compliment him on his border control. He also said that the Boy Scouts called to say that the speech he gave to them was 'the greatest.' Both President Pena Nieto and the Boy Scouts deny any such conversations. I guess it's possible they're trying to 'gaslight' him, but I'm getting worried that my President is genuinely mentally ill.

It's harder to believe Trump isn't suffering from dementia than it is to believe he is. Much, much harder.

Trump has so many complexes and problems that he would have my utmost sympathy if he were not also a rich criminal swine who made a career out of screwing other people over.

You are what you believe.

The complex I found to be terribly lacking in Trump is to have the need to be pitied by his inferors.
