Everyone is wanting to see their own bias in the situation. To me is still seems that the whole set of movements have been coordinated, among the several countries involved.
Turkey is not going neo-ottoman. They are probably more interested in getting disentangled from the syrian regime change disaster. And getting rid of the now useless but still rather dangerous tools that they hosted.

Russia had in the past made a fuss about supposedly being loyal to its allies (eg Syria), but nothing such is visible here.
Also, where are the kurds supposed to move? Isn't it all desert to the immediate south of the area Turkey wants to steal?

Don't be so sure that Syria wasn't asked. Both Turkey and Syria has an interest in getting the US out of there. And so did Trump. But the the threat of a war with a NATO ally was the card he needed to force the US MIC (military-intelligence-congress) complex to allow him to pull out.

I am not seeing that at all. Northern Syria was controlled by kurds since the war broke, but that doesn't mean Assad or anyone else in Syria wants the country occupied by Turkey. Futhermore, the US couldn't openly go to war with Syria (no public support for that). This isn't the case with Turkey, which is not into democracy in the first place.

They can't? What is occupying another country's territory but an act of war? It was Syria that couldn't move against the status quo, expel the amerians from the country, because any attack on those troops would give the neocons (who control congress if not the presidency currently) the excuse to go all out in a war against Syria. This can't be looked at ignoring the divisions inside the US. The US can go to war against Syria, it can destroy what remains of the country. They syrians can't resist and the russians wouldn't go into WW3 over it. The one thing stopping the US escalating the war is lack of popular support inside the US, but that would change if "the troops were attacked". Thus the syrians couldn't push them out. Neither could the turks by themselves, NATO allies or not. But the fact that the turks are allies could be used by Trump to restrain the neocons' opposition to a widrawal. And was.
Turkey is also divided, not just the coup and doubts about the political reliability of the military, there's also a real political opposition to Erdogan active. Erdogan needs a cheap political victory, not getting bogged down in a war against another country with big casualties. My impression i that he won't go to war with Syria, he just wants the "kurd problems" taken care of. That is enough to claim victory.

this is going to be a classic . Am stupid , am a fool , am telling that there has been rumours that claim Americans supply me with women , because they wouldn't have the power to rendition me or whatever and ı have been deploying more troops than the New Turkey could ever do and we have been fought to a standstill and "they" are already blaming me . Turkey opened up within an hour of the ceasefire agreement ?
Iam wonder if the Kurds were at all involved in the negotiations for the ceasefire which involves dismantling heavy weapons, fortifications and retreat. Too me it gives the US forces a chance to withdraw and try to take any equipment with them instead of blowing it all up. The rest is just political theater

Indeed. Besides, as r16 surely will know, the previous foreign minister of Turkey even wrote a book on how they will supposedly take back some of the lands lost in ww1, including in northern Syria. Turkey certainly IS neo-ottoman, among other things.

So why is it up to the US to defend the syrian border?
It has been an autonomous kurdish "state" for years now. The kurds being a major force fighting Isis and allies of the US.
Either way you look at it, it is a farce and certainly won't help the US gain allies in the future. (not that it needs them, but betraying your allies never leads to good).
Besides, it's not like US troops left the overall region. You sent more troops to protect honorable Saudi. Trump even ridiculously bragged that their expenses were paid for/they were leased. Apparently the US now is Thebes leasing hoplites for the persian civil wars
