If you reject other peoples' claims of damage as histrionics, but suggest that you know the actual damage, it's nothing more than vibes, right? Your own histrionics.

Not getting into off-topic stuff, but people who think Trump is going to impose himself as dictator are indulging in histrionics. He was already in power for four years and did nothing in that direction, even when COVID could have given him an opportunity. The damage I'm referring to has been slow and accumulative over the course of decades, and not pinned on any one person. It's not exciting, merely depressing.

There is obviously a tooooon of racism and sexism the Trump campaign is going to unleash, and some of it will work, but some of it might be so weird and extreme it backfires a bit. Like it’s going to get really ugly really fast in ways suburbanites will do the whole milquetoast “well there’s a black woman at my book club and she seems fine?”

So after surfing Reddit for about an hour, there was no enthusiasm for Kamala Harris specifically.

Hopefully she doesn't come off as fake in the next few days. She will never rid herself of it if she does.

It would feel like a Veep episode. The president has stood down, and now a ruthless lawyer comes to the podium, puts on a phony politician voice, and then rambles about coconuts or some ****.
