UFOs

Remember Spock's mindmeld with the critter that burrowed thru rock. The human miners were unwittingly destroying her eggs, doh.
He mindmelded with the mother Horta, to find out why she was killing the miners and would she please give back the pump. He found out that the silicon nodules were her eggs. When the baby Hortas hatched, they immediately started burrowing through the rock, and the miners discovered that this made the pergium much easier to get at.

Okay, what does that have to do with what you've been talking about? The humans did not create the Horta. The Horta are not burrowing for the purpose of helping the miners. That's a happy byproduct for the miners. Hortas burrow because that's what they do. It's a normal activity for their species. Neither is enslaved to the other.

BTW... Diane Duane, one of the best of the TOS novelists, created a Horta character who was the first Horta to serve in Starfleet. Ensign Nahrat (later promoted to Lieutenant) featured in Duane's Romulan-centric novels. I highly recommend them.

I dont know if we have rock paintings of the handbag, that would be a worthwhile project. It appears on stone sculptures at Gobekli Tepe ~11,000+ years ago and the Olmec city of Laventa ~3 kya and on Mesopotamian tablets ~4-6 kya.

Oh yeah, I think it appears at Lake Titicaca too and seems to be linked to flight.
Flying Louis Vuitton handbags.

Its possible the site for the pyramids was in use long before they were built. I think the Sphinx commemorates something involving Egyptian myths about a flood story, maybe during the transition from Virgo to Leo 10,500 BC - body of a lion and head of a woman.

Pisces to Aquarius, Virgo to Leo - maybe the prophecies of a return refer to the age of Aquarius, the water bearer.
I'd ask if you're aware that there is absolutely nothing scientific about astrology, but I think it would be about as productive as talking to a brick wall.

Kinda reminds me of why Angels that are describe in the Old testament Bible have a striking resemblance to both the Babylonians and Egyptians deities.
Face of a lion, eagle, four wings, feet of calves. Flying six winged serpents.

All civilizations located next to the sea or major rivers have flood stories..... for some reason.

I imagine they did, there are plenty of myths about people encountering strange things associated with their god(s). Some of these UFOs might be robots. But if we found another planet in our solar system we wanted to mine and we found critters on that world who could do the mining for us, wouldn't we make use of them? Star Trek did it, Star Trek did it.

Why would one want organic slaves when they are inferior in every way compared to a machine? Also why clone workers from mere animals when a machine can more readily be built?

So this thread has nothing to do with UFOs then? Okay.

Okay, what does that have to do with what you've been talking about? The humans did not create the Horta.

Humans made use of them to mine a world and if they could have created them they would. If we found a hominid like critter on a world we were mining we would consider modifying and 'employing' them if need be.

I'd ask if you're aware that there is absolutely nothing scientific about astrology, but I think it would be about as productive as talking to a brick wall.

Precession is astronomy and astrology. If people long ago witnessed something extraordinary and wanted to 'mark' the event in time, they would transmit that information using the Zodiac and precession. A monument or temple that tells the initiated it happened on the cusp of Virgo and Leo.

Course the Sphinx has the head of a man but it has been recarved and is much smaller now. It could have originally had the head of a woman or lion. In Egyptian myth Hathor was often depicted as a lioness. According to Plato Atlantis was destroyed ~9600 BC. If the 2 are related that was the age of Leo.

Somebody came up with the idea ancient peoples found dinosaur fossils and imagined what the monsters would have looked like alive, the Griffin is one possibility. Beaks, talons/claws, giants, dinosaurs. Makes sense. But some of these creatures could have been made by the gods, Gilgamesh and Enkidu got into serious trouble for killing the Bull of Heaven and the Bible notes various 'things' employed by God.

It is interesting how Jesus was the sacrificial lamb of God and the fisher of men, his life was on the cusp of Aries and Pisces. Before him the transition from Taurus to Aries was also met with changes, the Egyptians went from lining avenues with bulls to rams and Moses had a fit because the Hebrews made a golden calf. Before that Gemini shows up in Mesoamerican myth as the twin heroes of an earlier age.

As for flood myths, geography seems to play a role. Researchers into the Younger Dryas impact theory have compiled flood myths to see if they can narrow down impact craters. There's one in Greenland and a couple between New Guinea and Australia they're considering. Anyway, cultures seem to have 1 flood myth - one that stands out. And even inland cultures speak of such an event, one accompanied by a deluge and celestial phenomenon. They might have eventually heard from other people who were flooded from the sea to supplement their story.

Why would one want organic slaves when they are inferior in every way compared to a machine? Also why clone workers from mere animals when a machine can more readily be built?

I didn't limit the thread to UFOs, its open even to people who do nothing but complain about what other people are discussing.

Maybe ancient aliens stole the election for Biden because they didn't want the road to peace that Trump was creating because world peace wouldn't be good content for their reality show.

Maybe Trump is an ancient alien, which explains why he looks and behaves so odd and has no ability for empathy.

Maybe Biden is an ancient alien, he's got the age for it, he could be as old as time itself. He and his kind could have come to Earth in the 70s, since there were a lot of UFO sightings back then. Now there's hardly any of them, because the aliens are already on Earth and have constructed a gate to their homeplanet fueled by satanic rituals and the blood of the innocent.

So you ignored the rest of my points about the Horta. O-kay... maybe I need to explain it again.

Hortas are a burrowing species. They're like a silicon/mineral version of burrowing mammals, except that they're egg-layers. The baby Hortas would engage in their burrowing behaviors no matter if the humans were there or not, and if the humans did not treat them well, it's obvious that the Hortas can kill if sufficiently provoked.

The miners take advantage of the byproduct of the Hortas' instinctive behaviors (ease of access to pergium). The humans do not order the Hortas what to do, or punish them if they fail to find rich pergium deposits.

Actually, most of them tended to mark it by the day and year (Event X happened in the [whatever] day/year of the reign of Emperor/King So-and-So), or possibly X number of years before/after some other great event. The average person wouldn't have a clue about the minutiae of some astrologer's ramblings. The Romans kept track by saying that such-and-such happened during the [year] of Consul [Whoever]. They certainly didn't use the BCE/CE dating method we do.

:coffee:

Interesting that you mention Hathor. I've been reading a historical fiction trilogy about Hatshepsut, and have reached the part where her daughter, Neferure, is whining that she doesn't think Hathor loves her, even though she's been a faithful priestess for such a long time (Neferure at this time is a young teenager).

Human imagination is a creative thing. But the trick is to not confuse imagination with fact. I might be novelizing a computer game in which one of the characters is a king who gained fame for defending his kingdom and engaging in battle from the back of a griffin, but I know it's an AU historical fantasy. I'm making the effort to think up plausible reasons for the fantasy and magic elements of the story to happen, rather than be lazy and say, "because it's magic" and leave it there. There have to be consistent in-universe rules for this sort of thing, or it becomes a chaotic mess.

It is interesting how Jesus was the sacrificial lamb of God and the fisher of men, his life was on the cusp of Aries and Pisces. :lmao:

You think Moses was upset because the Hebrews made a calf - as opposed to some other animal? He was upset because they weren't supposed to make anything! Idol-worship was forbidden, and the ones who made and worshiped the calf disobeyed that.

I didn't limit the thread to UFOs, its open even to people who do nothing but complain about what other people are discussing.
You realize that if it wasn't open, you'd be sitting here talking to yourself, right?

so , when did a test article grow upto ... first an operational fighter that was "beyond available tech" at the times with its propellers needing balance or whatever lest it tear itself into scrap metal , despite awesome strength factors that would require wrecking balls to demolish ... then jet engines which actually destroy the whole case of wingtip vortices attenuation ... which then grew in size to be bombers in 1946 or 47 ... to be seen by some guy named Arnold who estimated their speed to be 1000 miles per hour flying in a vic of vics(?) while American intelligence were "interrogating" people to claim the design would have a subsonic range of 7000 miles or whatever , as one believer in some place elsewhere on the web constantly reminds the unbelievers ? Yay , another fitting picture !

some people might have been unhappy with allegations that the latest drone case might be a distraction for a ground team stealing F-16 spares (despite they totally not being privy to the joke of American parts of Turkish Fighting Falcons) that they have released more about the recent drone stuff . Seems this was noticed by chance and the border guard helicopter was reinforced with a second . The only light on the drone being Green , and from a comment on the page ı learn this is the least accessible colour of light for night vision goggles and the like , for a reason ı really wouldn't know in real life , but this somehow helps thedrone stay visible or so for the 40 minutes of play with the two helicopters , hidden from the lR cameras , but not from the naked eye , so much that it can not be actually "seen" in detail but still described as quadcopter , 5 feet to 3 ... Best brands in the market supposedly provide 30 minutes of endurance , but this one maybe waited 20 minutes to be noticed , 40 minutes of chaff/flare duty , outrunning and like outclimbing the helicopters , finally going into clouds and not coming back , despite the helicopters waiting for it for an hour to come down . Still seemingly within tech that should have been invented in the Black , with posters imagining brilliantly smart American engineers (sold short by politicians in the pay of Beijing and its evil communistic plan of world domination) battle their boredom with fooling with the Federal Authority ... And of course the said Federal Goverment will now return to using its Chinese drones , because crazy American masses could be wrongly influenced by an idea that the Chinese are so unimpressed that they haven't stopped drone spying for the benefit of selling drones to the American Goverment . Let us bomb them all !

only as a reference that New Turkey's mighty glorious success of UN reports claiming Al was cleared to operate in lethal mode is gloriously defended in country .

What about preliterate societies? The sky is a clock and precession gave our ancestors a never ending light show as constellations took turns rising and setting on the vernal equinox.

I think Bastiat found a tablet by the Sphinx referring to Hathor and the Sphinx as the guardian of her house. I dont know if she had any connection to the pyramids but that would seem to be involved.

You think Moses was upset because the Hebrews made a calf - as opposed to some other animal? He was upset because they weren't supposed to make anything! Idol-worship was forbidden, and the ones who made and worshiped the calf disobeyed that.

Yes I know the story, but some research suggests the moral of the story was a new age had dawned and the calf represented a past they couldn't return to.

They didn't exploit them. It's not like they started a Horta farm.

What about preliterate societies? The sky is a clock and precession gave our ancestors a never ending light show as constellations took turns rising and setting on the vernal equinox.
There's a difference between ordinary time-telling and astrology. For instance, I know how to find north, whether it's day or night (assuming the night isn't cloudy), but I don't need astrology to do it. All I need is the Sun, the Big Dipper, and Polaris.

Yes I know the story, but some research suggests the moral of the story was a new age had dawned and the calf represented a past they couldn't return to.
I will probably regret asking for a link. It seems straightforward to me. One of the commandments was "thou shalt make no graven images"... which the calf was. It's always seemed a bit psycho of Moses to get angry with his people for doing something they didn't know they weren't supposed to do, since he hadn't come back with the Commandments before they made the calf.

But whatever... the people did something that offended God and Moses, so they were punished. Most punishments in the Old Testament tended to be very messy executions.

We procreate and take care of ourselves

Machines can build more machines. Also maintenance droids can be built to maintain the preexisting machines.

Humans need to eat biological food = expensive compared to raw electricity.
Humans require oxygen to breath = not efficient when you want to force them to mine in oxygen deprived environments.
Humans are temperature sensitive = not good when your goal is to force them to mine in the extremely hot or cold depths of the Earth.
Humans have limited muscle strength with muscles that tire out readily when worked too hard = very bad if your goal is to have them lift tons of ore mined underground.
Humans need to consume fresh water = difficult and expensive to pump below ground to your miners when a machine just requires the electricity.
Humans are pressure sensitive = Extremely bad when you want them to mine at bone crushing depths.

All I mentioned above proves that machines are superior to Humans in almost every way when it comes to being a viable labor force dedicated to mining. Why else do you think everyone is paranoid of machines replacing everybody's job this century? It is because machines get better performance for a fraction of the cost compared to weak biological mass. The flesh is weak compared to an entity made of metal.

Fossils is a popular theory, though its more likely they are simply dreamt up given that nearly everything else is made up fantasy.
People have also floated the theory that the double circle angel could be described as an UFO but given the lack of abductions and anal probing I think we can safety rule out Aliens (joke)

.

Have we found aliens in Cygnus?

They have found high energy γ-rays from 12 sources within the milky way, including one in the constellation Cygnus with energies as high as 1.4 PeV. These are postulated to come from cosmic rays of about 10 times that energy. What could be producing charged particles of 14 PeV (more than 1000 times what the LHC can make)? Sure, they could be some natural phenomena, but it could be the aliens having a war or a party or something.

your daily drone report . Did Pentagon call me a liar or something ? Turns out the F-35s supposedly see drones , one had to move sharply to avoid a collision with one . An F-16 sees "cruise missile" type objects near Washington D.C. A lot of risky moves if you want to believe , with like each one within 15 feet of an American plane , and other nations are targeted as well , not just mighty glorious Americans . Some of whom apparently unhappy with submarines USN can not catch ; so the US Aviation types supposedly thinks it is a Goverment conspiracy for a massive buy of imaging systems , ı don't know , because . Loved the smart F-35 using electronics to spot one ... With 1000 kilometers or 1000 miles long range of their electronic hacking abilities , am pretty sure F-35 pilots will not mind Sidewinders lighting up within 200 or 300 metres ... Had to look up for a while for ANY picture ; this should be trolly enough

I personally think that there are great many races out there - we will (possibly) never know. Scientifically if we assume that Universe is infinite than given infinite tries there's 100% probability that intelligent life will occur. (If Universe is infinite than every event that can occur will occur with 100% probability - we are the living proof that intelligent life can exist , therefore it must exist). Maybe not during our life span as an intelligent race but it will occur. If universe is finite than there is also the possibility that we are the only ones - probability is simply on the "aliens do exist" side and that's pure math as I understand it.

US military UFO report 'does not confirm or rule out alien activity'

A US government report on sightings of unidentified flying objects (UFOs) found no evidence of alien activity but does not rule it out, officials have told US media.

The review of 120 incidents is expected to conclude that US technology was not involved in most cases.

But beyond that, the report makes no definitive assessments about what the objects might be, officials said.

A declassified version of the report is due to be handed to lawmakers in June.

The report is the product of a military task force established last year to investigate decades of unexplained aerial sightings in US airspace.

The Department of Defense said it wanted to "improve its understanding" of unidentified aerial phenomena (UAP), also known as UFOs, and determine whether they posed a threat to national security.

The report was mandated as part of a pandemic relief package signed by former US President Donald Trump last year.

Its release has captured the imagination of the public in the US, where UFO sightings have long been the source of intrigue and alien conspiracy theories.

Speculation about the contents of the report has been building among UFO enthusiasts ahead of the its slated release to Congress on 25 June.

What do we know about the report?
Details of the study were first reported on Thursday by the New York Times newspaper, followed by broadcaster CNN and the Washington Post.

Those media outlets said they spoke with multiple government officials about the findings of the highly anticipated report.

The officials said that of the 120-plus incidents documented over the past two decades, the majority were reported by US Navy personnel, while some involved foreign militaries.

CNN said it spoke with three sources who said the report does not rule out extraterrestrial activity as a possible explanation in some of these cases.

There is, however, no evidence that aerial phenomena witnessed by Navy pilots in recent years were alien spacecraft, the Times reported.

Citing intelligence officials, the newspaper said the experimental technology of a rival power, such as China or Russia, could account for at least some of the aerial phenomena.

The newspaper and CNN said intelligence officials were concerned about the national security implications of this conclusion.

What UFO incidents have been reported?
Some sightings were discussed in a recent CBS News report that renewed interest in UFOs last month.

The network's 60 Minutes programme interviewed US Navy pilots who said they had seen inexplicable aircraft that flew faster and were more manoeuvrable that anything seen before.

One retired pilot, Ryan Graves, said his fighter jet squadron began seeing UFOs hovering over restricted airspace off the coast of Virginia in 2014.

He said the objects had no visible exhaust plumes and were travelling at speeds that appeared to defy the limits of known technology.

Mr Graves said pilots training off the Atlantic Coast had similar sightings "every day for at least a couple years".

Last month Luis Elizondo, a former US counter-intelligence agent, told ABC News that some of the objects that have been sighted "can outperform anything that we have in our inventory."

"The question is, what is it?" he said. "The bottom line is, we simply don't know."

In April last year, the Department of Defense released three declassified videos of what it said showed "unexplained aerial phenomena".

The department said it wanted to "clear up any misconceptions by the public on whether or not the footage", which had already been leaked in 2007 and 2017, "was real".
