Just FYI, there are things designed to fix this issue, I have no idea if they work.

While use of a bag, may reduce the micro-fibres being produced from the clothes being washed, by impact against the washing drum.
I am sceptical, it all reads like green wash, unless the bag is made of linen ono; it will surely produce microfibers itself.
