TyrannusRex
Warlord
Eh, maybe it's just me, but I was always quicker to perceive Pedro's joviality and Cyrus' general slyness/cleverness (probably because I'm always friends with him) than their negative traits. Meanwhile, Pericles has ALWAYS been an a-hole towards me (I'm sorry, old man, I like city-states!), and Philip too, if I try and out-religion him. But I do love the care they've put into the leaders' personalities in this game. It actually helped me get back into studying history, because I was reminded that these were real, living people with quirks and interesting lives. Even if some of their in-game personas are historically inaccurate (Hardrada, you were probably the most Catholic Viking out there. What's this about Odin and Valhalla?)I'm more saddened by Firaxis' decision to portray Cyrus the Great as an untrustworthy backstabber and Pedro II as Great People hogging jerk. They were both great and respected rulers, yet It's hard to like them in my games.
(Post-script: Speaking of personality, I really wish Cleopatra and Gilgamesh were more... animated on the diplomacy screen. What happened there?)
