Got a question on W2s: What deadline does the gov't set for employers to send out the W2s to their employees?

how did you get that animated avatar? thought it is not possible here?

So much for a quiet moderator. ;)

Oh, and thanks for the info :)

It is a form that you get from your employer showing how much you have earned and how much you have paid in taxes throughout the year. You use this form along with others to file you taxes with the IRS (Internal Revenue Service). Hopefully you don't owe any more taxes and might actually get some money back from the gov't. :)

BTW, this is about taxes in the United States of America - I am sure the forms are different in other countries - so if you live in a different country and/or have no plans to become a tax paying American ignore all this information before your head explodes. :D

Well, I already have my 'W2'. We simply call it a 'jaaroverzicht' = year overview.

I am pretty sure I will get some money back, as I have a great tax deduction thingy: mortgage interest is deductable here.

Here, too. Deductable mortgage interest, that is.

I always hate January. I wait all month to get my funds so that I can file, and it's always mid feburary before I can do it.

Obviously, I get some nice returns.
