This is the tread for that...

Its sad, but not my gig.

It's indeed very sad, but when placed next to perspective like the stuff that goes around in Iraq, Africa, and parts of Asia; the only thing I can say is.. "reality bites".

the only time i put something on for solidarity was a flower after my MSN name in honor of the victims of the Beslan Massacre (365 deaths, excluding 31 terrorists), while i do believe that this incident is tragic my avatar is and will always be the civ 2 fanatic. (though i'm going to Add a flower to my MSN name again for a while)

cant be bothered changing my avater..

I am sympathetic, but changing my avatar isn't going to bring those dead kids back to life.

Why such a motion over 32 dead americans, when three times that number die daily in Iraq?

true. especially in darfur. but of course that is over shadowed by 32 dead americans...

Death is unfortunate, but changing an avatar isn't going to do anything.

I'm sure ta least 32 people commited suicide because the habs didn't make the playoff. So I'm gonna mourn my own people.

You know, your really clever. You should go into standup or something.

I plan on wearing a VTech avatar during the college football season, they always show VTech on Thursday nights so I'll be pulling for them all season. A minor contribution, but something.

I already have, I make such a big deal about this because it happened in my hometown. These people were my neighbors, and while I no longer live there the NRV will always be my home. Not Darfur, not Iraq, not Beslan, I'm from the NRV so I shall mourn my neighbors far more than I would mourn the strangers rom far away lands...

Today I mourn for VT:(

Dont' get me wrong, i am saddened by your loss.. but it is a drop in the ocean to me.

It really cheapens grief when unaffected people try to claim it.

While I may not have been hurt myself, or have any of my friends killed. This still happened to the members of my hometown. I believe I have every right to feel sadness for those who died, and for those who lost family...:(, and finally for my community which has been so scarred by this horrible tragedy...

I would never call you unaffected. You do have every right to feel sadness. I'm talking about the people that have never heard of the place, don't know anyone who knows anyone there, don't have anything to do with anything to do with it, and this happens, and they make it personal.

Ah, in that case I can agree with you completely...
