What is your greatest aspiration?

The Dream
The circular nature of the OT (and also the even more circular nature of my OT posting) has brought once again this question to the surface.

What is your main dream, your higher end in this life? It could be something easy to access, and hard to maintain, or even no hindrance being there in sustaining it either.
On the contrary it might be that you have great ambitions.

For me my aspiration is to become a known writer. It seems i am in a good road to that destination. Maybe in a couple of years i will have a successful book out as well.

Another dream is that the current economic nightmare will end, but this is a collective wish for the people here (and to some extent in other countries of the west too).

Considering that it was, virtually, only this year (by which i mean this annual period, beginning with October 2011) that my work saw clear recognition, i am hopefull for the future in that regard.

And you?

A Nobel Prize in Physiology/Medicine or Chemistry. This is final.

To take over the world.

Live a happy and content life.

To help spread tolerance and negate the negative impact of bigotry in any way i can

Happy Dreadnoughtdayitis!

Well, in the short-term, I want to earn enough dividend income such that I'm paying more in income tax than I 'take' in social security payments. I'm well on track, so this should only take a couple more decades.

Once I'm getting progressively more wealthy (and am able to spend some of my dividends on lifestyle) I should be able to eventually retire from income-earning. I'll probably still be working, though, because there's not much alternative. I'll just work fewer hours or with more interspersed leisure.

Long-term, I currently suspect I'm going to colonise my own star. I figure that will be done in the next 15,000 years or so.

That's probably my greatest aspiration

To live a simple, happy life in a small city or town where I can make a meaningful contribution.

To have my kids be better off than I was.

Also, to see the Cleveland Indians win a World Series.

To get out of my computer chair.

In life: sustained contentment, and to become a better writer.

Here: to have the best pun in at least one thread and/or out-wit jollyroger.

All seem hopeless.

To seize power in Bosnia with a Coup d'état and proclaim the Socialist Republic of Bosnia under the guidance of our dear leader Nedim. I would be as wacky as Gaddafi, but I wouldn't make his mistakes and become kaput.

Any aspirations I have are useless to have in a society such as this.

Therefore, all I can really afford to have as an aspiration is to survive.

not my aspiration, but quite relevent.
the conviction in the guy's eyes after the other guy laughs is brilliant
