What "unusual" things do you spend money on?

Starfruit! :goodjob:

I am very frugal with my money. The only thing I have to spend it on right now is lunch. :D

(As a teenager I am proud to say I didn't waste my money on a cell phone! )

find some friends? :p

Thats great. I but about a good 5-6 KG of fruit and vegetables every week man.

Love that stuff, can't get enough. For the life of me I cant understand why as a kid I would eat all kinds of fruit flavoured plastic (AKA candy) instead of real fruit.

I think it's more nonsensical that there are fruit dips. Caramel, chocolate, vanilla, sprinkles ugh!

I dont eat anywhere near enough fruit

For a teenager I'm very responsible with my money.

I get a paycheck on Friday or the next day I work, I put it in the bank and then take 20 off the top. I spend that 20 usually on food and maybe hygienic implements once in a while.

My first checks were entirely for computer parts, but as far as a regular spending its 20 and maybe 30.

Would agressively purchasing income-generating stocks count? If not, then I'd have to say that I rent more movies than I should.

I buy LED light bulbs. Expensive as hell but the light is very pleasing to the senses.

Remington 870 Marine Magnum

Of course, the Remington 870 is probably one of the most popular shotguns in the world. The Marine Magnum is much more expensive, though, because of some added bonuses. Pretty sweet, though!

Theres a lot of people which would like to buy income generating stocks ;)

MtG cards.. invested loads in them

Yep. I made money from them too. £2.20 per 'booster pack', sell the rare for £3.00 - £5.00. Keep the other 14 cards (or sell them). Every few boosters get a dud rare. Every few boosters keep a rare.
I built a reasonable collection and made a profit. Along with selling sweets at school to people too lazy to queue at the tuck shop. Until school shut me down because I started buying the tuck shop out of certain sweets. That was my first ever lesson about regulation of monopolies.

I spend money rarely. The only unusual things would be brandy and sherry, for both of which I have a distinct fondness.

Then do so; when I started my savings, I saved all my money by buying restaurant meals and movies more frugally. Determine how much your friends are spending, spend less, and earmark the savings.

Oh, my wife and I have a policy of always buying a fruit at the store if we don't recognise it, or have never had it. Usually they're disgusting, but at least we're informed.

But how do you know which stocks to bet on?

Everybody has a favourite system. I like buying within an industry de jour; I take a list of companies that I think are stable, and then buy the one with the highest dividend yield.

I estimate that about 85% of the my non essential expenses goes on books. And I don't even buy that many of them. Maybe an average of 2-3 a month. My entertainment doesn't come from buying stuff.

Musical Expenses...both in the forms of purchasing CDs and .Mp3s to study, and then for actual equipment, like Drumsticks, Drum Keys (which I lose like crazy), harmonicas, books for my students, etc.

I'm saving up to buy a whole new drumset, since I've had the same kit since I was in 8th grade, and its getting a little worn down.

My woman's a might unusual (yet at least twice as lovely). I spend all kinds of money on her. Completely worth it.
You didn't happen to put a pic of her in the Member Photos' thread, did you? :mischief:

 I have a pre-paid phone. I plan to spend about $100 or less a year on minutes. So far I've only used about $20 (got the phone last Xmas).

What makes that shotgun better than your average shotgun (I don't know much about guns)?

If Jesus were alive today what type of gun do you think he would want? :mischief:

Jesus favors a bullpup configuration these days:

(As to the 870 Marine model shotgun, the 870 is a very popular series of shotguns, and the Marine model just looks a whole lot better than your average standard model, AFAICT. I'm sure there are other differences John HSOG can elaborate on (Magnum implies the acceptance of magnum-sized shells (I think), and it appears to me that the barrel length may be a bit shorter than your average sporting shotgun (yielding more spread at the cost of range, for a more urban protection type application)), but the stainless steel look (to me) seems far cooler than a standard black-metal-and-wood finished shotgun. It's a pretty distinctive look for a shotgun. And besides, how can you go wrong when referencing Marines? ;) )

Nice gun, John HSOG! :goodjob:
