What Video Games Have You Been Playing VI: Because There Are No Elections In Video Games

DiRT 3 is decent, but I already have DiRT Rally which is much better imo, so I'll just save space on my drives.

I picked up X-Com 2 and Alien: Isolation over the long weekend.

Got DIRT 3 for free. Tried playing it. The easy setting is way too easy, you win every race without even trying. But intermediate is too difficult, I always just crash into everything and finish last.
Try DiRT Rally, then DiRT 3 hardest difficulty will be too easy.

I have discovered X-Com. I am considering offers on the other aspects of my life, which I am no longer using.

The Binding of Isaac does get more fun with practice. I wrote down one of the seed codes of a favorable run through and that has allowed me to make a lot of progress. I've gone from hating to loving this game over the last few weeks.

No Man's Sky got a huge update which added many of the missing features from launch. It is still a bit repetitive but holy cow it's massively improved. It's actually fun to play it now. Some of the goodies:
*You can scan through rocks to detect minerals
*You can buy a freighter and move it around systems
*You can build a base and a teleporter between your base and the local space station.
*Minerals now form distince veins inside the planetary crust. You can use you grenade launcher to dig into the Earth and then excavate out caverns underground. The sound effects (dribbles of water, splashing puddles) even change when you've created a cavern.
*The in-game economy has been straightened out so that it makes some kind of sense.
*You can stack some items in your ship inventory. I assume this is also possible with bases and freighters. I did not test that out because I got too distracted mining and upgrading my gear.

I believe it is now fair to say that the advertisements used to sell the game are accurate. It is a much improved game and I highly recommend it if you are into science fiction exploration games.

Playing Witcher 3 after I abandoned my last character about halfway through. I forgot just how good the main quest in Velen is, especially compared to Novigrad or Skellige. The voice actor for the Blood Baron deserves an Oscar for giving me all of the feels and for giving him real depth and humanity. The Ladies of the Wood are also phenomenal and the music during their scenes is so unsettling.
God I love the game. If the crafting/loot system wasn't such a disaster, it would be my favorite game of all time hands-down, beating even my beloved Morrowind.

Dusted off my old PS2 and copy of Ape Escape 3. Didn't work so I ordered replacements on Amazon and binged on EU IV while I waited. Everything arrived and works like a charm. Then I noticed the Playstation emblem on the new console is sideways.

You know you can rotate it by hand?

Eternal card game - better then hearthstone
Grimrock 2 - from humble bundle

Grabbed Just Cause 3 on sale. Hope I'll like it.

What was the reason? Just 'cause? :p

Indeed, figured I'd like it since it's not a Far Cry from other games I've enjoyed.

Touché! :D
