Whats your major?

Financial Accounting is cake! :) It is the Managerial Accounting class that is best avoided. Unfortunately for SIU's business core it is required. My calculus class if full of useless crap as well. I already knew the compound interest formula from finite mathematics. I seriously only need about one full chapters worth of knowledge from this hell class.

Accounting in general is my weak area..but thankfully I'm done with that and reading balance sheets and such are the things I CAN do, so I'm good! :)

But the finance I've taken thus far, I've aced.

Hopefully I'll get something halfway decent afterwards.

BSc Zoology 2.2 (Hons)

I'm a poli sci major, but i am also a debater, so I am also getting some pretty effective training in public speaking.

does your school offer a public speaking major (or focus)

and 2) where do you go to school?

Calculus is worth it without any applications. It offers a world view from precise calculation.

The compound interest rate-->continuous compound interest rate.
A simple one-year interest rate of a%-->a continuous compound interest rate of b%

1+a% = lim (n is infinte) (1+b%/n)^n=e^b%

So we got a continuous compound interest rate of b%, instead of a one-year interest rate of a%.

Edit: b% is better used in scientific calculation, such as the exponential growth of microbes.

Forgot to mention that I go to Pace University (in the Downtown NYC campus, though I've taken a couple classes in their Midtown classrooms, most notably, the C-SPAN in the Classroom course for three terms in a row). Apparently, we're developing a talent of flushing holy texts down our library's toilet....

Major in that area to be available starting Spring 2008.

The business majors go to the Lubin School of Business.

My cousin goes to Pace. It's a big school, so you probably don't know her. She was Downtown last year, but I think she's going to be in Midtown this year; at least, she's living right near the foot of the GWB, which would be a long subway ride to Downtown for classes. Weird that you who live in New York City are connected to me, who lives in the NYC suburbs, most closely by someone who lives in San Francisco.

What do Political Science courses at Yale entail? If you were to take an IR course, would that not count towards your political science degree? Is the political science department broken into subgroups?

Depends on the class. Many classes fall under multiple departments, such as the political science-philosophy overlaps I mentioned. Generally, though, IR is completely independent of Polisci, and that's true at all colleges I looked at or applied to, so it's probably true of most American colleges (at least, aside from very small ones).

The Polisci department is not broken down in any meaningful way, though individual professors of course specialize in certain parts of Polisci (the professor who only teaches classes about ancient Greek political thought, for example, or the one who focuses on game theory, or the one who also teaches some economics classes).

Well, the chances of your cousin making a whole schedule out of Midtown classes is slim, considering there are few classes held there on 5th Ave & 45th St. But, you never know. There are only 13,000 students between NYC and Westchester County campuses! And given that I'm doing the whole fifth year thing.....just increases the odds (or lets me scare more freshmen, either way).

I think I'd rather be living up in Washington Heights, with all its hills, than in this dump in Brooklyn, but such is life.

Some sort of computer sciences - i haven't figured it out yet. I hope they'll tell me after i finish it.

Nono, he's Downtown this year. He was MattBrown last year.

Jeez get it right.

Eidgenössisch Diplomierter Informatikingenieur FH :)
basically a BSc in Computer Science

Master International Politics
Master Management
And next year Master International Economics

Then it's enough I hope.

Maybe I'll make a poll, since thats what I've been doing lately.

I'm Political Science and Music (Performance). Next quarter I'll figure out if I'm dropping the music, since I no longer need it to keep a scholarship (since I now no longer have a music scholarship)

If you already graduated from college, tell us what you majored in. If you haven't gone to college, what would you like to major in?

Infantry/Stomp your arse into the ground.

I' going to Tromsø to study geology at UiT in a week.

partying!!!!!

Majoring in history (hoping to squeeze in a minor in sociology) and planning to get a Master's in Library Science.
