What's your reading speed?

I once read 30 pages of Jung's autobiography for 6 hours... Although that was an extreme case, for me every book is like a journey to another world (I don't read realist literature). They are not entities in themselves, but rather gateways to my own treasure-filled gardens. Sure, I may be schizoish and narcissisticish (egads what a word!), and could do with some reading courses, but I'm lazy and I rather like my journeys. :)
Spoiler :
Did you guess that I'm a University dropout? I guess I should've.

It's a lot easier when you delete all the text from the webpage. Then the stop/start buttons are right next to each other.

867 WPM and 100% reading comprehension.

The stats are meaningless though. I quickly determined that the information is boring and so quickly skimmed the passage. I did not attempt to remember any of the numbers but just remembered more general things like "average person reads slowwwwww." When I got to the reading comprehension quiz I aced it as much because of common sense and luck as of the facts read and remembered.

479 wpm, 82% comprehension

If I read fast, I don't take in information, so I read slow instead. There isn't any point in speed reading if you don't take in what it is you're reading.

I read very slowly, 250 wpm but with 100% comprehension. I have learned that speed reading is unnecessary. Though maybe I should reread it as fast as possible.

239/91 while tired.

Speed reading results

You read at 57496 words per minute.

Dang, I knew I could click "start" and "stop" faster but it's hard to move the mouse that quickly and make sure you're close enough to the stop button to hit it.

286560.

Highlight start button, Enter-Tab-Enter. ;)

tests like these are usually crap.

(IMHO)

The best comparison is to read, and enjoy reading, some lengthy book and see how long it takes for you to finish. Why? Because if you enjoy reading you won't skim ahead to get better speed results... you'll be genuinely interested.

For example, the 5th Harry Potter volume I finished in ~8 hours.
