Where do you wish you were from?

While I'm happy as a New Yorker in exile in this wasteland, I'll play along:

I'd choose to be British or German. One of them. Or maybe Chinese. It varies on the day.

The main idea is that I want to be part of a nation that has a glorious history.

...I'm kind of slowly slipping into fascist territory with the glorification...

I was born in America, which worked out great, but I'm not sure why I'd want to be "from" anywhere else?

I'm won't be living in my hometown again (at least not for another decade or so), but it feels like an integral part of my identity. If I want a more urban environment, or exposure to a different culture, or more opportunities...I'll just MOVE to those places. That way, I can still have those experiences, and be "from" Ohio.
