The self-pity is strong in you. You take no responsibility for the value of what you do and say. No matter how much that is due to failure or mental sickness - it is a devastating attitude. You have to realize, accept and most of all learn to live that.
That you constantly post crap like that proves that you do not do so at all. But it is the basis of any fundamental improvement. You are lost, as it is. But you do not have to be.

There was a time when my dad wanted us to take a trip to Yellowstone and maybe along the west coast of the US. But we never did get to. Nowadays, a long trip for me is across town if I need my computer repaired.

While maybe I need to be told something like that, I'm honestly confused why you felt like posting this now; it's pretty out of left field.

I had like an impulsive desire to make this thread, and was afraid that if I tried to spend time and effort to make a better OP I would figure out it'd be better just not to make the thread at all

It has made for a fascinating study in people's interpretation of an ambiguous phrase. Some took it to mean "if you were no longer compelled to go the places you are now are compelled to go" and some took it to mean "if you could no longer go to the place of refuge that is presently available to you"

I understood it in the second way. And if that were true, I would just start walking--see if a new place to go turned up.
