I thought about watching it. Now I won't. Thanks. :)

I usually watch the Noomi stuff. Sorry to hear Crab is not good. I was gonna watch it too.

I think it depends on what you expect and what you like.
The scenario itself, that they need to skate over the lake, is interesting, and the atmosphere in the movie is also good (although sometimes maybe a bit slow). I just expected more from the whole thing. Just this part doesn't do it for me, and I was disappointed :/.

I was pretty bored by Turning Red, though Pixar movies rarely do it for me anyway. I spent the last half playing on my phone lol.

On the other hand, I've seen Encanto probably ten times already. Last night I saw they released a "sing-along" version, so I watched that but skipped around just to the songs. Honestly, I think it might be the best Disney movie to this point - the whole concept of narcissism and generational emotional abuse really hit home for me. I love how things were resolved, it's a beautiful movie.

Disney movies are pretty much the only animated thing that does it for me, I think possibly because of the music.

The Adam Project. Uh, it was okay. 6.5/10. By all accounts, it has the pieces necessary to be good, but it simply isn't.
The Adam Project - I saw it too. I tend to agree with you. My general feeling about it was that it had a great beginning, and a decent, albeit somewhat predictable end, but no actual middle... the movie felt like it was missing the actual... story... part of the story. It was all setup, then climax.

When the movie ended, I felt almost like I had slept through the middle of the movie. I actually had to go rewind to check (because I often do sleep through the middle of films), but no... they just skipped from setup to climax, with very little substance to the story in the middle.

Spirit: Stallion of the Cimarron. Bad. Too much singing. Pointless story. 1/10.

Children of Men https://www.imdb.com/title/tt0206634/

It's OK but not more as I was hoping for - I have no wish to watch again. Might've had something to do with my previous string of movies which this was a contrast to. By far the best thing was Caine's performance - probably the first movie of where I liked him more than the movie. Owen was fine, too.
First half I was wondering where had I seen the midwife before & who is she. The latter half felt like a holiday home movie from Beirut while I was thinking that these guys aren't following the same 101 of urban warfare I was back in time - I cared almost equally and in the end I was mostly intrigued by the lack of movement of the rowing boat when Owen called it a quits. At halfway point I was thinking that I should probably like this more but that sentiment passed before the end.

Velocipastor (on AMAZON prime)- First of all, do not watch this movie. You will not like it. It is, very unironically, exactly, EXACTLY what it sounds like... and its stupid. Its barely even a movie, but seems more like a college student's film class project, maybe even a high school student's project. The budget of this "movie" could not possibly have been more than $100 dollars. The scenes of the film are intended to form one coherent story, but they come across more like individual SNL skits, bad ones, the ones that get rejected.

The reason I watched this ridiculous "movie" was essentially a dare and to cast a vote in what was essentially a bet. The context is I was discussing The Batman, with family members who had just seen it, and the topic turned to other movies including other Batman movies. I then stated that the Clooney Batman movie, Batman & Robin, was one of the worst, if not the worst movie I'd ever seen. My family member declared the she had watched a movie that was much worse... Velocipastor and dared me to watch it and see if I could still call Batman & Robin "the worst".

My other family member had a different take. He rated the movie as being in the "So bad its Good" category, to which I immediately mentioned one of the most iconic movies in this category Starship Troopers. I said the title of the movie immediately reminded me of Sharknado, to which he responded that the reason they've made so many Sharknado movies is because they're in the "So bad its Good" category. But my other family member was hearing none of it and she declared that the movie was so ridiculous it wasn't even a movie.

So I took the bet/dare and watched the movie. Again... do not watch this movie. Its dumb. However, after watching it I have to agree that its a "So bad its Good". The movie is very intentionally, unflinchingly bad, right from the opening scene, and at no time does the film make even the slightest attempt to take itself seriously. It just keeps one-upping itself in terms of how increasingly and over the top ridiculously, cartoonishly bad it can get. Every possible cliché and terrible plot twist, bad script, non-sequitur, low budget thing you can imagine happens in this film. And its clear that the producer(s) did this on purpose. They were obviously trying to make the film as bad as possible, and because of this, it had an odd sort of trainwreck, can't-look-away appeal to it.

My final verdict was that it really can't be fairly compared to either Batman & Robin or Starship Troopers, in the sense that those were large budget movies that took themselves seriously and were trying to be clever, with the former trying to blend Burton's nightmare-circus-noir style with the retro 60's Batman camp into a serious Superhero film... and just failing miserably... and the latter actively going mocumentary with a parodic critique of a futuristic fascist society through the lense of a hybrid propaganda film/documentary. Velocipastor had no such point or goal (or budget). It was just "lets see how bad we can make this movie."

I am actually morbidly curious what others might think of it... but seriously... don't watch it. I'm warning you. I'm not refunding you the wasted moments of life you spend.

I rated it 6.5/10 when I saw it.

Speaking of movie recommendations. Has been anyone seen AmeriGeddon https://www.imdb.com/title/tt4059702/ ?

Not that I expect anyone to have done so; even less than seen Tetsuo(s) but I learned on the ever reliable SF forums that it's the best movie in decades so I got it. Somehow the paranoid mind of mine has come to suspect that this may not be the case nor have I been in state of willing lobotomy so I haven't started it but what's worst movie anyone has seen on this millennium?

I really should get you lot a SyFy channel subscription.

While waiting that I watched Atomic Blonde https://www.imdb.com/title/tt2406566/ Much more my kind of stuff atm though I may have confused a nostalgy trip for a movie.

Starting with Blue Monday & bringing Makepeace look-a-like on screen after that so I got an erection before the opening credits were over. Female anatomy was referred to in terms that made me believe that The Hays Code was bypassed in production, awesome. Then there're black 911 Turbo & Audi V8 as company cars neither of which helped with my acute & local circulation issue so I just settled down & enjoyed the ride. And they even flipped that over the same way as D&M opening credits did :worship:
I liked pretty much everything in it apart from neglecting Nina Hagen from the soundtrack and putting her on as a French spook instead and wrong song from Falco's repertuar was used. Near the end there was a minor disappointment in historical context as I couln't spot the Main Man bringing The Wall down, David Hasselhoff. Maybe he was just looking for freedom.
Cast was fine and there's a fair chance that Theron will eventually get proper credit as an actor. She's versatile enough & I've quite liked her over the years. Yeah, I'm aware of that small statue in her past but who doesn't like serial killers?
I assume that people late from that party will not appreciate this as easy or as much as I did.
