While We Wait: Boredom Strikes Back

Merp, to be honest I'm starting to see/agree with Abaddon's point of view on NESing. Concrete stats and a 'this is a game, someone must win' mentality seems to give a NES some cohesion that is sadly lacking in a lot of the more amorphous community story-building exercise NESs(NES's? NESssss). I'm speaking entirely about my own NES(')s though.

I mean, I like the ideas behind them NESuss(oss? cannot recall the proper name) style games where players play as powerful figures in a city/nation-state, but I feel like they've mostly failed because they lack a lot of rules/stats to make things concrete and give the players--as well as myself--direction.

EDIT:

And yeah, 2010 was a lot of abortive NES's, including all of my own. Here's to hoping 2011 will get better!

IIRC, in BirdNES 1, the Spanish king was sacrificed atop an Aztec pyramid.

Nor do they play the game the same. :goodjob:

Shame imo... Spains madness really opened the floodgates on rampant Portugese expansion  and also for many other nations to attempt to fill the vacant niche.

Spain in BirdNES3 is a machine of Catholicism that will not be stopped by anyone.

The Aztecs will. :)

Shhhhhh....The king of Spain has not yet heard of the Aztecs and does not know what awaits him in their land when and if he gets there.....Hmmm... and I guess the Aztecs have not yet met the Spanish either.

Heck, in my view, the death knout of the Spanish Empire in Bird1 was in my own, bloody, formery naive hands.

Why yes it was. You had many wild escapades in that game.

I met something. It's not the Aztecs I'm killing?

No, I do believe those you have met have a different name. In fact, that bit, Cortez's story, is the last one I have to write. I will try to make it obvious when/if you meet the Lords of the Mexica.

We already had a NES wiki. It died, despite some people putting a great deal of effort into it.
