OT Poster Satisfaction Survey
In recent weeks posters have been voicing their concerns across a wide spectrum of forum rules and procedures ranging from moderator consistency to electing mods. These public discussions have sparked staff discussions too. As a result we have developed a more organized approach to collecting the opinions and ideas of those who frequent OT.

Our survey is divided into two parts. The first is eight questions. The second is a proposal for you to weigh in on. You may express yourself freely, but please be serious and respectful. The more precise you can be the more helpful your suggestions will be for developing the forum. We do not plan on making the results public, but we will post a useful summary of the responses once we have them compiled and sorted.

How to answer:
Each question will be in a separate post so that you can use the report post button on each post to submit your answer.


1. What is good about OT, what keeps bringing you here?
2. What annoys you so much that it makes you want to leave or has made you leave in the past?
3. What kinds of posts, or styles of posts, annoy you the most?
4. What is the one thing you would do to improve OT?
5. Do you see moderation as too strict or too lax?
6. How could moderation be improved?
7. How could the infraction system be improved?
8. Which member(s) who isn't currently a moderator do you think would make a good moderator and why?

The separation of the forums for Computer & Tech discussions, Sports, History, Science, and lately the Arts has provided an opportunity to see how splitting of the topics has allowed discussions to be focused on specific types of issues. Other options to consider are to reorganize the Colosseum into more or less subforums. Maybe religion, politics, news (or 'serious' current topics) and 'lifestyle' (or lighter topics)

This clustering of similar thread types would allow different moderation styles in each forum and should make it easier for mods to be consistent within each forum.

As you answer these last two questions, please keep in mind the eight questions you answered above.
