While We Wait: Boredom Strikes Back

Since there doesn't appear to be a "Open Spots in NES" thread stickied anymore, I figure I'll plug my NES here.

Based loosely on the Fallout series of video games, Beginning of the World as We Know It strives to be a relatively decent NES set after a nuclear war resets civilization. For those unaware, the Fallout world was an idyllic World of Tomorrow as forseen by the 1950s before a resource conflict between the Chinese and United States led to all out nuclear war in 2077. BOTWAWKI started sixty years later in North America as various factions began to rebuild from the ruins.

Provide food and water to a struggling population! Eke out an existence and perhaps even one day thrive in the ruins as a new civilization! To date, we really only have a concentration of factions within New York, and there's still plenty of room across North America and the Caribbean for any new players. The West is almost empty, as are the Caribbean islands and Mexico. As added enticement check out this Google Map created by a player to show you what's happened where with relative ease:

We're past the 10-update mark and speeding firmly ahead. If you don't want to go through the bothersome process of creating a new nation, take an NPC, there's a few laying around.

And here's the link for the thread itself, inviting all comers: http://forums.civfanatics.com/showthread.php?t=410120

Oh, just a random split off from something I mentioned in #nes.

I'll come back to NESing only if Daft makes Nesse again, or das comes out of the woodwork and makes a NES.

Just saying.

Hmmm, I wonder what kinda orders would be written if attempted at say, oh, 430...

Old NESes never die; they just fade away. :mischief:

So how long do you guys wait until you decide something is dead and it is safe to look at other NESes?

Really depends on the person. Everyone's different. Some i'd not give a week, others months.

That was a hell of a long time to remain stoned, i'm impressed with your stamina!

My orders of that assortment usually get caught up in some crazy tangent about the game environment that is not statistically relevant to the rule set. For instance, what is the inflation on my currency or my macroeconomic policy? what is the exchange rate? how do people start businesses? is the department of water parks operating at full efficiency or are there bureaucratic redundancies I could reduce? what do the tax forms look like?
