While We Wait: Boredom Strikes Back

While I am not wanting to detract from that awesome achievement at all. Perhaps it should be based on progress made from this point? Competition can only be a good thing anyway? :)

It should be postcount of active NESers.

That's easy enough to measure.

:mischief:

Makes sense to me ;)

Perhaps it can be updating races won? Currently I'm 1-1 with NK, 1-0 with MjM and 1-0 with bombshoo. :p

Updates from now to 5k?

Who would want to search any of the many WWW threads and for what?

Thlayli, for.. moral decay?

I think we will close this one at 5000.

What if one of us goes on to do their dissertation on the moral decay of today's youth via demonic activities such as dungeons & dragons or NESing?

I can't think of a positive reason to close a WWW thread

Tradition, a sense of renewal, fatigue at seeing Thlayli's name, need for a new title, an excuse for discussing a selection method, boredom strikes back.... ;)

If name fatigue is a legitimate reason, I suggest that all the big name threads in the forum be restarted by someone whose name doesn't rhyme with "labbadon".

One of several reasons reasons, my good sir.

We could let the NESer with the earliest join date do the honors. Or the most recent joinee.

i'm okay with whatever happens with this cesspool of a thread series as long as nes development and althist remain in the hands of their current topic creators

there's literally no reason to archive the threads, though

Said the man who started this one. ;)

In a state of EXTREME reluctance, because the trend of starting a new WWW thread every two months caused someone to do it carelessly and with improper formatting.

How quick we are to forget the lessons of history.

Archiving would cost us pc and we certainly can't have that. :)

i don't mean archiving to a different forum like in OT or whatever; i mean what usually happens to www threads (for no good reason at all since the forum software was updated)
