While We Wait: Boredom Strikes Back

INES I, TNES I, and AFSNES are my top three, and I couldn't really rank them beyond that. DaNES would have the top spot except that it died before I got to finish killing Cambria.

DaNES II. I haven't really been around long enough to experience anything else of substantial quality.

Really liked Milarqi's first and Nzcas' Indian NES because I got into my stride for a story/update which made them rich.

For the games themselves, I enjoyed wreaking Spain in Bijay's first and enjoyed all of his NESes, as well as Daft's NESes. They are so cool. other than that I liked Sheep's 1500s NES because of the back and forth of the PCE and the HRE and my first real try at a actual power and payed like one. Usually I build up a small country (tehra/rhode island/conneticut) or take a medium one and engage in trade. That was my first taste of power that lead to my North France+England empires (Three total!) Vijayanagar Empire and such. Thanks sheep for corrupting me to power in a good unevil way!

NES2 V, NES2 VI and AFSNES were classics. I really loved StKNES5, N3S III, DNES2, NESLife 3, NEB1... okay, everything Daftpanzer has ever done, NyNES, SLYNES, NDNESV and III, DwarfNES VI, FarowNES IV... lots of them! I'd list more but I'd get to the point where I'm just being mean by omission. :p

In no particular order, AFNES Tibet, BirdNES Bengal, DasNES Muscovy, ITNES Bactarasha, Huns, and Wagadou, TNES Golden Horde, GoobNES India, STKNES Peoples Republic China, INES FEAR, DisNES France.

I have fond memories of BirdNESes and DisNESes (the ones I was in, that is). Various DaftNESes (the two directly Civilization-based ones and the one with WWII, can't really keep up with the naming scheme here :p ) and North King NESes too. Building and self-destructing bloated empires is fun!

What's AFSNES stand for?

Advanced Fresh Start NES, an experiment with the BT/IT stuff some people still keep using for some reason. :p

EDIT: Bwahahahahaha, Iggy. Bwahahahahaha.

Its a bad Russian translation: Afwone Super NES.

What is considered to be a "successful NES" ?

DisNESes (the ones I was in, that is).
I coulda-shoulda-woulda joined that, as either some kind of Swedish rebel or the usual lolgreeks. Months later, when I told Symphony, he seemed...displeased that I hadn't, as either. :p

... I might join this DaNES thang. I heard it was good while it lasted. But, I dunno...

You don't say. :p Especially the lolgreeks. Damn it, Dachs, you're supposed to be cripplingly addicted to your gimmicks! Stop being versatile!

I wonder what would've happened if I'd joined up as a Greek rebellion, sometime around Symphony's Azovian offensive and the Imperial invasion in 1705. Nonmilitary updates indicated that you were doing the usual Ottoman stuff with the Orthodox Church. But I half-remember you killing off one of the Patriarchs, which could help as a catalyst for another 1821. Of course, it was a few years ago, and I dunno what the social situation was like in the Peloponnese or what you were doing with the dudes from Fener. And your navy was too strong for a rerun of Çeşme. :dunno:

I want to host an NES. I don't care if it's only populated by newbies like me.

What would those newbies like to see in an NES? Just shoot an idea out and I'll run with it. (Not first-come-first-serve, more on consensus.)

Create a NES that you like, not the one public demands - moderator has to like his NES idea not create a NES he can not moderate due lack of knowledge or liking.

From my short time I've spent on NES forums, I've come to believe that fresh starts, specially in fantasy settings or alternative world attract new players. And simple, easy to understand rules very important. I may be wrong, but that's the route I'd go, if I'd want to attract "newbies".
