While I think the Mavs should be favored, I hardly think that it's a foregone
conclusion that they'll win.

the mavs are /spurs and pistons are on a whole different level then most eams in the nba...

clippers have a better team then phoenix more balance have key players and key positions, good defense.etc but severlylack experience

phoenix is run and gun offense would work against non experienced teams and older teams...but tim tomas and shawn marion dont really qualify as a post presence....

keep phoenix in low scoring, phoenix has no height no defense, then they will lose and the clippers blew it in the series

tim duncan got fouled but liike steve kerr said that the officials are not going to let those free throws decide outcoeme of game

Yes! Finally the Mavs have beaten San Antonio.. it was a nerveracking game..

I really dislike Duncan.. last night he got every single call.. and then he complained abouth clear fouls called on him.. I'm happy I won't have to see him play until next season.

And now.. to the NBA Finals.. :D Go Mavs!

Except the call that mattered the most...

A Mavs fanatic friend of mine retorted "What like Duncan never fouled?" and I quickly replied "Not with no time on the clock!" He had nothing to say after that.

The fouls were called pretty disproportionately this series though. For every foul the Spurs had the Mavs had three. However, all the Spurs fouls were called during critical times with the score knotted up and very little time on the clock with either Dirk or Terry going to the free throw line. So I guess it all evened out.

it shouldnt have to be about trying to even out calls...it should remain unbiased for every team...

overall i think it was bad officiating...throught out the series

What's new? The NBA has has bad officiating for the past 10-15 years. Stars get preferential treatment.

hah, I actually watched the NBA draft lottery. Good, Portland tanked some games down the stretch and played altogether awful. At least the Raptors stayed respectable....they have a future under Colangelo.

GO MIAMI, GO MAVERICKS!!! I called the Mavs winning, and I guess thier the other team I would like to see win it....*sigh* Duncan has proved in this series though that he is STILL the man. 41 points, he always comes up big.

Except in that overtime period ( 1 for 6 grumble grumble)...

Well, they should have had it before that. Things happen. He did everything he could, Ill put the blame on no one. Nowitzki is an awesome player, and has been ultra-clutch in the playoffs. No shame in losing to the Mavs this year.

That's true. IMO Dallas was clearly the better team. Duncan had a great series though, I had flashbacks to like 3 years ago when he was really in his physical prime. I called Mavs too, the only series I got wrong so far was I picked Clips over Suns.

That is very true. I thought San Antonio could eke out one more win and make the series a little more respectable when they were down 3-1. I never envisioned they'd be playing any kind of game 7. They astonished me with their "never say die attitude." Of course, Dallas's winning attitude was even stronger. Dallas is a fresher team than San Antonio and much more mature than 3 years ago. Of course I'm going to hear all the gloating and boasting from Mavs fans when I go back to Dallas for school in the fall.

Nobody, absolutely nobody would've made that last call..

Inter, have you seen this kid Andrea Bargnani play? How good is he? Is it fair to compair his potential to Nowitski? I think Jerry Colangelo really wants to draft him. We might be hiring Benetton's Coach as an assistant too I think. Colangelo likes Italian basketball (He brought over D'Antoni) We didn't expect to go number 1 though, I don't know if that's too high to pick Bargnani...

That doesn't change the fact that there was a over the back hack on Duncan does it? Yes I aknowledge that they won't call it as a definative measure for a game 7 in a hotly contested series in the NBA playoffs. However, had the foul not taken place, Ducan makes easy layup, Spurs win and you know it. It wasn't like he was shooting an impossible 3 going out of bounds or anything. He was making a shot that would have gone in no question had Dirk not fouled him. Oh well woulda coulda shouda...

Raptors could trade down if they really want Bargnani, there is no clear cut number 1 type player. Aldridge has been inconsistent, Thompson is raw, and Morrison is a defensive liability plus has some health concerns.

From what I've heard, Bargnani could go 3, 4 or 5. However Toronto is wanting him really bad, apparently. Of course the workouts are just starting... I was just wondering whether Inter actually knew anything about him.

Phoenix has given Dallas a helluva game so far.

Way to lay an egg Dallas (annoyed). They break my heart by beating the spurs and break it again by losing to phoenix with a last second shot.

They didnt lay an egg, they were up by nine with about 2 minutes to go. Phoenix never dies.

Steve Nash scored the next 10 points after they went down by 9....an MVP type performance perhaps? :mischief:

For some reason I really want a Miami-Phoenix series now...forget that I said I wanted Dallas to win, I really want Steve Nash to win. GOO CANADA!!! :p
