Voting for which party will bring us justice, Patine?

Patine is mis-applying an analysis of the type of party system found in parliamentary democracies to United States party politics, which represents a rigid, and, if you will, neo-Manichaean form of thinking that prevents Patine from making much meaningful contribution to American political discussions.

I was neo-Manichaean before it was hip.

Now I'm post-neo-Manichaean.

But I am looking forward to when I can be retro-neo-Manichaean.

If someone pleads their innocence and they are in fact innocent, a pardon shouldn't be interpreted as a confession of guilt. But I dont know if that translates into the ability to offer a blanket pardon, 'the people' should at least know what crimes are alleged. But I dont know, I suppose a blanket pardon would be needed if the list of crimes was extensive and growing.

The Presidential/Gubernatorial Pardon and the Impeachment Process are holdovers from the old, pre-Revolutionary British Monarchial and Feudal system, and not at all appropriate or acceptable to the theory behind a Republic and they undermine the very concept of there being any sort of justice possible in the U.S. as a nation. And, since BOTH the Republican and Democratic Parties do not, and never have, had on their platform or proposed policies doing away with these travesties, miscarriages, and violations of justice, as well as the selection of Federal justices for ideological beliefs and partisan patronage and spoils appointments rather than actual merit, which, while not specifically a Monarchial or Feudal holdover, is still a spit in the face of justice, from the fabric of U.S. Constitutional, or even bring ever the ideas of doing away with these corruptions of the judicial system, both parties are effectively anti-justice and antagonistic to any true and equal judicial system, utterly and completely. You will not find justice, or even the path thereto, by voting for Republicans OR Democrats.

I think maybe the Framers were wary of political parties and the kind of partisanship that could infect the government. Better to let Presidents walk away than create an atmosphere of retaliation, especially when both parties are guilty of similar offenses. Who will let a little torture get in the way of such a cozy relationship.

Yeah it's not like the guy you think is a lesser evil is currently responsible for torturing tens of thousands of children in prison camps or anything

I'm not making a misrepresentation at all. I'm pointing out that the whole American political party system is a corrupt, self-serving, criminal racket, and that any Americans who wish to see TRUE betterment, advancement, justice, and needed change in their country to gather to a massive grassroots legislative revolt to actually vote out BOTH parties in the same election, and then gather a new Convention to write a Constitution for the modern world, not one written by arrogant, elitist, ultra-wealthy, full-of-themselves aristocrats much like any in Europe at their time, just without formal titles (and more than half of them were slaveholders). A vote for EITHER a Democrat OR a Republican is a vote for the Establishment - and a vote AGAINST the people and against truly needed reforms and changes. And, a vote for either party is also, along the line, a vote for the Plutocratic Oligarchy. So, no, I did not erroneously compare a Parliamentary system to the U.S. system - I just happen to know, that in most cases (Hungary, Singapore, Anglo-Caribbean Nations and such other examples aside), for all of it's own flaws and problems, the Parliamentary system tends to offer better choices of parties, and often forces compromise, and is a far superior system to the rigged-election Duopoly soft tyranny with no MEANINGFUL and TRUE choice the U.S. has - until, of course, YOU THE PEOPLE take your nation back, in one way or another, from the traitors in Washington, D.C.

Like any capable striker in the sport of non-handegg football, you should create your own chances.

Having previously quoted my favorite book, I feel the time is right to create my own opportunity to quote my favorite band!

What Trump will say to Biden when leaving office in January:
"You think you're special, so very special.
I wish I was special.
But I'm a creep.
I'm a weirdo.
What the hell am I doing here?
I don't belong here."

Belief is not demanded. The problem, the insane thing, is that it is automatically believable on its own.
And yet my original statement was about having a near-aneurysm moment at Maduro's statement, rather than whatever I am being abscribed.

The modern media likes to trigger near-aneurysm moments and lives off of overexposure, sensationalism, incendiary clickbait headlines, yellow journalism, inciting fear, paranoia, and an apocalyptic sense of dread. Given the state of modern media (as opposed to it's previous, more limited in such qualities incarnations) one would never know or guess we actually live, today, in the safest, most tolerant, and most peaceful (RELATIVELY SPEAKING) period of time in recorded world history.

Do you think the Democrats will prosecute him for that? Me neither... Why is that? But I think Trump's family separation policy is less evil than invading half the Middle East. The torture I'm referring to was part of the war on terror following 9/11. Joe helped kill hundreds of thousands of children. Yeah, no contest - thats more evil.

The reason why no one important was ever prosecuted for that is because of the cozy relationship between the 2 parties. We know Nancy Pelosi was told about the torture and she protected Bush when she became the speaker. Gee, I wonder if Joe was told about the torture program too.

Do you think the Democrats will prosecute him for that?

How about just ending the practice of child concentration camps altogether, even if Trump and his cronies don't ultimately end up hanging upside down from a gas station like they deserve?

Can we just agree that that wittle teensy tiny little respite alone would be a good thing that we could maybe do by voting for not-Trump?

Remember Coen, Trump's old lawyer?

In his new book he says Trump is completely controlled by Putin and a "sucker".

Hilarious. I mean, I don't even care if there's anything to back it up, just seeing him say and imagining Trump hearing it is hilarious.

"Resign. Let Pence pardon you."

Yeah come on Trump sign the resignation. Pence will pardon you for federal crimes but the state of New York will go easy on you. Slap on the wrist is all. Pinky promise.

Hm, I suppose that if Trump loses he cannot be pardoned by anyone, right? (I also have to suppose a potus cannot pardon themselves)

Self pardons have yet to be tested.

As far as I know he can only be pardoned for federal crimes. But for crimes he committed while residing in New York, only the state governor can pardon him.

And Governor Cuomo was the guy who last week actually physically threatened Trump by saying he'd need to bring the army with him if he ever sat foot in NY again.

New York City also had to dig mass graves for COVID-19 victims. NYC doesn't seem to fair very well under GOP presidencies.

we mortals have no understanding of what the powerful can do with the law . Like who knows PM's lawyers are actually working , before and after the event , like with him taking total advantage , to stop the re-stuff of Ayasofya , back to a mosque these days ?
