No but basically every (counted) county in the country except for a handful of swing state major cities and Indiana (?) have swung hard for Trump, and California won’t be any different. Trump is absolutely the popular vote favorite right now.
This is starting to confirm my theory that Democrats can only win the presidency when people are actually doing badly and scared. If they feel like they are doing badly and scared, the GOP wins.
Making Obama's 2012 victory a fluke against a weak candidate.
In the scheme of things globally, not a surprising result. The last two years have been bloodbaths for incumbent parties with no actual political ideological consistency. If the right was in charge, they got yeeted, if the left was in charge, they got yeeted. Harris making this somewhat close waa actually something of a surprise compared to peer countries (mostly a result of Trump being so disliked).
Yeah a world in which Trump won in 2020 means 2024 would look like 2006/2008 for Dems. An incredibly large percentage of political power is down to random timing chances, but nobody likes to admit that because it implies a lack of control.
Watching election results is sort of like watching water drip into a bucket. 70% of the vote in down by ~3 points in Penn. time for Kamala to pack it in. Dont see it changing from here on out barring something drastic happening. OMG he stole the election, stop the steal, stop the steal. Oh wait I'm not that guy.
