2nd Run NFL Mock Draft Thread

See, i dont think we have so much depth there anymore. Chris Henry is gone. Our QB situation is shakey. I cant afford to get rid of TJ and CJ. Does anybody really want Kelly Washington? I cant imagine the Browns do.

Antonio Bryant!! Geez, there is a reason he is gone and Joe Jurevicious is wearing the Brown and Orange.

Who would you be looking at drafting with the 12 spot? Bunkley?

Antonio Bryant is a gifted reciever, had over a thousand yards, and is better than Joe Jurevicious. Was he a headcase on the Browns though? I dont remember any stories of him being one.

Matt, how about offering a cornerback? Or something like Ratliff & Washington and a 3rd.

I'll have to ponder that. I think I like 2nd, 3rd and Washington more....if I was a GM, i'd really rather hang on to Ratliff, with him being so young, and with such a high celing. I would be willing to trade Washington. That would also allow me to keep my late first round pick to get a TE, and use the rest of the draft to try and find cheap players to add depth

He is a gifted reciever, there is no argument there. The problem is he doesn't show up every game. He can have games where he absolutely explodes and has 9 catches for over 120 yards or 1 catch for only 15. Which is extremely frustrating when he is supposedly a #1 reciever (or at least claims to be).

Man, I thought you said you couldn't participate in this one! What's the deal here.

The deal is in my sig, mon ami. I figured being around just for the early 1st round, when the picks are self-evident, would be lame on my part. Not to mention I have no free time to research draft picks for subsequent rounds.

The is no way the Bengals are moving up to twelve without at least giving up their first.

Oh yeah, Malba PMed me with the Raider pick: Vince Young

Now this is a hard choice for the Bills; Ngata, Huff or Davis? Hmm, we signed Larry Triplett to the DT spot that needed filling, and have a definite need for a Safety and Tight End...this is going to be a real tough choice, any thoughts people?

Alright, the decision has been made. With the 8th pick in the draft the Buffalo Bills select:

Vernon Davis - Tight End - University of Maryland

Strongly considered Huff and Ngata here; but with the signing of Tripplett that eliminated the major need for a DT and Huff is better suited as a corner or free safety, neither of which we need at this point. Davis however provides a legit second target besides Lee Evans that probably wouldn't have otherwise been found in this WR poor draft.

Per an earlier in the day pm from woodelf (whose at the movies). The Detroit Lions select:
cutler13.jpg

Jay Cutler - Quarterback - Vanderbilt University

no way that is Jay Cutler...btw, the Detroit Lions would then have 6 QB's on the roster. Kitna, McCown, Orlovsky, King, Harrington, and Cutler.

The Raiders selection I kinda disagree with. You have Andrew Walter, and you have the talent on offense to win now. You either go with Mr. Walter or take a vet QB like Aaron Brooks (or if you want to take a huge risk, Harrington).

I forgot they had signed McCown, but Cutler will be ready in a year or so. Harrington is long gone. Kitna is insurance and the others are roster fodder even though I liked Orlovsky out of UConn (wasn't it?).

For the 10th pick in the 2006 NFL Draft, the Arizona Cardinals select

Haloti Ngata, DT, University of Oregon

I'm pretty pleased he's fallen this far. He's the guy to shore up the Cards' interior line.

Real quick, per Darkness (Rams GM): the Rams select: Jimmy Williams - DB - Virginia Tech

Also, quick announcement, the Browns are accepting offers for thier pick.

Do the Browns want Cutler for their pick and a 2nd or 3rd? Damn McCown signing makes my pick stupid!

As attractive as the steroid-ridden cutler may be; we are quite content with Frye at the QB spot. ...We actually have Cutler rated as a mid-second.;)

We are more looking to move down in the draft somewhere in the range of 10 spots.
