A Brave New World Part 2

To: Metis
From: France

We are extremely disappointed to see our Francophonie brethren taken in by the false promises of the socialist international. But blood is thicker than water, and for that reason we will not wage war upon your nation, in the eventual hope that you see the error of your ways.

Ho! Our crushing victory over the communists in the West Pacific is truly a magnanimous act. The Reds thought it'd be easy-going, but they were sadly mistaken. Now the socialists will see that they shall not undo our rule so easily. I think we can safely say the Last domino falls here!

We will send 4 EP to the Republic this year to continue the fight. Please take note that the Communist reserves are wearing thin, and they shall be beat by attrition if nothing else.

Should the Republic of New France need assistance in quelling the communist insurgency, Virginia is willing to help.

From: Jacques Loisel
To: Fellow Communists, Socialist International

I call upon the powers of the Socialist International to assist the Confederation of New French Communes (CNFC) in its struggle against the corrupt republican government of New France, which has been planning to oppress the workers with the Pillmont Project. We cannot allow the republicans to use the People's resources for their own profit. Whatever assistance you can provide is appreciated. Our plight is dire as it is.

Recant your support for the republicans, and I will forget that you ever meddled in this affair. This is your one and only warning.

I'm sorry, who's talking to you?

From: The Republic of Germany
To: The German People (Republican and Imperialist)

For too long the German nation has fought wars on lands far away, mostly futile wars, and ignored its own domestic issues. A monarchy, with all the power resting with the Kaiser, prevents the people from speaking out and taking the correct path for itself. A nation should ruled by its people, not by one who only has power by having a particular blood line and gold atop his head. Now is the time for change, where the people rise up to rule their own county, their own home, and emerge onto the world stage not as a people ruled, but a people ruling.

We urge the Kaiser to abdicate the thrown and allow a federal republic to grab the reins. Should he do this now, he will be allowed to live his life as a free, wealthy man who had, indeed, lead Germany through some good times. However, should he not, he will be arrested and tried for crimes against the German people, and punished appropriately. Every year the Kaiser stalls the unification, the longer it will take for Germany to rebuild. Every German that dies in this war is a blow to both sides, for we are all brothers. The sooner the Imperialists lay down their weapons, and the full unification is complete, can we finally begin improving the nation, build a stronger economy, improve the military, and make Germany the envy of Europe, nein, the world!

Our markets have been without Jamaican sugars for far too long and with your recent crisis we wish to work together once again. Should Jamaica accept reopening the ports to Georgian companies, we would be willing to buy exclusively from yourselves.

On the Coast

The steamer approached the city of Winnipeg, and the Manitous could already see the crowd gathered at the docks. The trip to Nouvelle France had been a wild success. The first game against the Loups-Garoux had been a 6-1 blowout, and the team from Vancouver had lost 7-3 to the powerful Métis. Making the final stop at Nouvelle Caen, the large crowd- over 1000 spectators- had witnessed a thrilling battle, ending with a 5-4 victory for the Manitous over the Nationales de la Nouvelle France. The team had certainly been quick to leave, however- there was a small riot between supporters of the two teams after the match, and newspapers were all running headlines about some Mexican insurrection in the nearby south.

In addition to the victories was an even greater gain. In the match against the Ours de Vancouver, all three of the opponent’s goals were scored by a talented young center named Philippe Turgeon. Following the hard-fought game, Gilles Dupuis approached the amateur-level player with a contract- it had not been hard to convince him to leave his unpaid position.

Thus, the team was returning home one player stronger, and now with an undefeated streak exceeding a year in length. There would be some time off in Winnipeg, but the ever-planning Dupuis already had another trip planned- before the winter was out, the Manitous would go to Canada.

I'm saying what the major newspapers would be saying, not what's actually happening- consider the Winnipeg General Strike in 1919 OTL- the newspapers called it a communist revolution and blamed it on Russians, Jews and Anarchists.

Damn. If only I were minimally able to do good drawings... As such, I suck at drawing, save when I try to do copies from other drawings, and even then I can't do them well. Not to say that my knowledge of Danish language is reduced to a couple of words.
