A New Dawn Bug Reports and Feedback

I don't know if this has been reported, I'm rather new to the forums, but I noticed that the Diplomatic victory condition enable by the Apolstolic Palace doesn't seem to trigger, is this normal or expected? I am running RoM 2.8.1 with AND 1.54 clean and patched on Win7 Pro x64, I have included a screenshot. Any other info I would be glad to provide.

Are you playing with Mastery Victory? It enables all other victory conditions, but you still can't win till the end of time. No early Religious or Diplo victories.

Afforess, thank you for the quick reply, it seems that Mastery Victory was enabled by default, so that's it. I have seen other strange things, but those seem to have been already discovered and discussed, so I won't mention them. Keep up the great work, and I'm looking forward to your next release.

Yep. It shows me what components you installed.

Cool. I hope you can find out what is causing this trouble for me.
If its too much hassle, you can as well just explain to me how i would go about creating a proper log-file (i.e. find out, where the crash is occuring).

I don't know if this is the correct place to report this, but I have a repeatable CTD that happens in the industrial era. I am not entirely sure what causes it. Hopefully there is something that can fix it. I am new to the AND modmod, and haven't been able to finish a game yet :/

A New Dawn.log reads:
{Required Files} {Military Civics} {Beautification Project} {Castle Improvements} {Civic Flavors} {Ice Breaker} {Ideology Civics} Meteorology {Mountains } {Realistic Diplomacy} {Seafaring } {Resource Refinement} {Multiple Production Mod} {War Prizes} Zoology Firestorm {The World's Fair} Arctic {Larger Cities} {Espionage Process} Forestation {Sea Tunnels} Terraforming {Lead From Behind} {Event Images} Education Sports {Hi-Res Cursors} {Fixed Borders} NIMBY {Civic Buildings & More Wonders} {Surround and Destroy} {No Storms} {Advanced Diplomacy} {Balanced Civics} {Early Buildings} ANM Fortifications

I am using RoM 2.81 Full.

When advancing the turn on the save below I get always will get a CTD.

I have a bit of a problem, I don't know if it is addressed anywhere else, but here it is. I'm trying to install A New Dawn, and it goes smoothly. It installs 1.53 without problems (except at the end it says "cannot find woc_installer.exe" or something, but it says it installed correctly so I'm ignoring it for now), but when I go to update to 1.54 it says I do not have the right to write to Mods/Rise of Mankind. I haven't tested the game yet (cause if it works I'll probably play anyways), can I get some help? Will report back with more info if the game doesn't work.

Nope, not working. RoM works fine, but no A New Dawn stuff is working.

for feedback, I'd like to say that this is a great mod and I've had a lot of fun exploring the new options. The one objection I have is that I think that Objectivism is way overpowered. Just like how Socialism is given extra-ordinary conditions to keep it from being overpowered (astronomical) Objectivism, if it is the mirror image of Socialism as the civics seem to be set up, needs its own extra-ordinary condition to keep it from being overpowered.

Since the ideology civics mainly deal with how they effect the economy (the 2 unhealthy and unhappy from objectivism is negligible) I propose that Objectivism hurt cottages. The rationale is that from historical experience laizze faire economics leads to monopolies (the US during the gilded age) and that would and did severely hurt small businesses, which appear to be what cottages represent (the massive money gained from them accurately portrays the role of small buisness as the engine of the economy).

:lmao: objectivism eventually rapes the economy, I suggest negative growth for cottage type buildings so they eventually disappear, also extreme revolution penalties, 90%+ of the population can only take being screwed over for so many, years

if a country really ran Objectivism for a 100 years a handful of families would own the entire country for you get monopolies and the rich had a tendency to marry the rich so eventually each family would own more and more industries

ok this time I have a real bug. For whatever reason I can't open it with regular saves, I can only use autosaves. So I've been fine with that, but now I have a problem. I use the autosave for 1844, and right when the next turn with the next autosave starts, the game crashes and exists. This happened once before when I tried using an autosave that was older to fix a mistake, but that was ok because I could still use the newest autosave. Now for whatever reason the game crashes when the autosave after 1844 comes, so i can't play the game.

here is the log: {Required Files} {Military Civics} {Beautification Project} {Castle Improvements} {Civic Flavors} {Ice Breaker} {Ideology Civics} Meteorology {Mountains } {Realistic Diplomacy} {Seafaring } {Resource Refinement} {Multiple Production Mod} {War Prizes} Zoology Firestorm {The World's Fair} Arctic {Larger Cities} {Espionage Process} Forestation {Sea Tunnels} Terraforming {Lead From Behind} {Event Images} Education Sports {Hi-Res Cursors} {Fixed Borders} NIMBY {Civic Buildings & More Wonders} {Surround and Destroy} {No Storms} {Advanced Diplomacy} {Balanced Civics} {Early Buildings} ANM Fortifications

I've also attached the autosave that I was talking about. I can use that, but four turns later the game crashes

First off, disregard my previous problem, I fixed it myself. But now I have another problem. Everything installed great, it's now in the right place, but it still doesn't work. I go to play BtS, go to Load a Mod, choose Rise of Mankind and then it restarts (and takes a good three minutes to do so, I might add), then, just as it loads about halfway I get an error something like this:

"Tag: Z-ADER_BARBARIAN in Info class was incorrect.
Current XML file is xml\GameInfo/CIV4ForceControlInfos.xml"

And then it crashes. Help? Please? I've been up all night trying to get this to work and all I want to do now is get it going to I can play the damn thing.

Try these then write again, if you cant get it running correctly, thx.

I dont want to stress you, but do you have any kind of idea when you will be able to look into that save i uploaded ? Quite frankly, i want to play CiV 4 so badly, but if every game ends in a one-way crash, i cant bother being interested any more...

merry xmas.

Here is a set of two different RANDOM crashes i had, i think i just need a NEWER pair of eyes to look at these, maybe i am missing something?? They always happen near the end of the Classical era, and then just a little later in the Medieval era.:crazyeye:

The COPY ones are the Classical era and the normal ones are the medieval ones.

How was that supposed to help? The FAQ doesn't address my problem at all. I followed the instructions perfectly, after I solved my previous problem (I still had 2.71 installed, as the folder my game checks for mods is in some weird place), installed 2.8 mega, updated to 2.81, installed A New Dawn 1.53, updated to 1.54 and I still get this problem. It must be A New Dawn because if I uninstall it the game works fine.

It may also be good to note that none of the civs from the civ pack that came with 2.8 Mega are working. They're there, in the right place, but they simply don't appear in the game. I checked it out, it's definitely running RoM 2.81. Not sure if the two problems are related, I really just want to get A New Dawn working.
