I don't have the mega pack installed, just normal (NOT lite) RoM 2.8, patched up to 2.81, then your modmod 1.53, and patched it to 1.55 (in this order).
 
I highly recommend turning off a few of the mega pack civilizations (You can just change the 1's to 0's in the MLF file. Tutorial on how in the modmod's forum.) I believe there is a limit to the game engine that is being reached by adding that many civilizations.

Turning some civs off seems to have done the trick. Thanks. Finally I can get around to enjoying this mod.
 
Looking into my custom civ thing for the first time, I'm shocked, appalled, and worried...

I'm getting a huge amount of entires, and some of them are NOT in the game, like Iran, Yemen, Parthia, Philippines, Nigeria, etcetera. It seems like 30% of the entries aren't in the game.

What do I do with these? Disable them? Throw them out?


EDIT: To make it even more impossible, there are entries in the XML for civilizations that ARE in the game, but that do NOT have a folder in the Custom Civilizations folder (And I'm not talking about America, I'm talking about things like the Iroquois). There are also civilizations with folders in the Custom Civilizations folder, AND in the XML, but which aren't even in the game!
 
Alright, here is the promised bug report after I use Debug process with the debug dll.

1st Screenshot: - Notice my mouse is hovering the pink button, representing Cavalry by Zulu9812 of ROME fame. I will report to him that he need to take care of white space later. Anyway, that is what I'm going to click here...

Are you 100% sure you set everything up right? The third box shouldn't appear unless the crash is in the .exe. Since BTS is generally considered crash free, and the only thing the game engine really handles is the graphics, it must be due to some invalid graphics, bad XML related to graphics, or otherwise...

Mostly probable ROME's crash because I removed artstyles while leaving in WWI pack. Zulu9812 did say sometime before that WWI and Artstyles had to go together for some reason. It was probably why it crashed. I removed WWI pack just now anyway because it is unnecessary for Marathon speed, but still leave Colonial pack in my installation.

We will see what happens in the next game I play...
 
Afforess said it was purely random so I decided to toss it away since there's nothing we can do about it.

In my games it seems to be within the first 150 turns or so, though I haven't gotten past that point very much so who knows what lurks further into the game? Now I'm cringing everytime I try to load a save. :eek:

There is a static leaderheads module in the Unloaded Modules folder. Simply move that to the Modules folder.

Droping Static in my Modules folder causes crash after I load the game...

I guess I have to restart to get it work, right?

Putting in Static folder and NoBuildingGraphics file WILL break save game :). Learned by bitter experience :lol:.
 
I think that has been posted before: I can´t run AND in German language. In fact I cannot run RoM in German anymore after installing AND 1.55.

In more detail:
In English I can both run fine RoM 2.81 and AND 1.55. I can also run RoM in German if AND is not installed.
After installing AND I see this: As soon as I switch the language the text on the main screen interface disappears (see attached screenshot). The buttons are still there but the accompanying text is lost. If I just click blindly on the interface I can even select a new Civilization etc., but there never is a text with it. All of this works fine in Rom 2.81 with AND not installed.
 
Since AND 1.53 I have a Random bug that keeps appearing( currently patched to 1.55). At "end of turn" while the globe is spinning I must keep the globe away from the leader list in the lower right corner above the end turn button. If I do not, then at the beginning of the next turn a Leader will appear asking me what I want. As if I had clicked a Leader to start a Diplomatic session. And it is generally a different Leader each time it occurs. As I said it is Random and not always repeatable, at least I haven't found a direct pattern. The only pattern I've been able to discern is to keep the "spinning globe" away from the horizontal area that the Leader list resides in. This includes leaving the spinning globe on the left side of the screen that is directly across from the leader List. So I must place the SG pointer, during "end of turn" wait time, either above or below this Leader List area on the Main Screen. Strange bug.

I think I found the cause of the Leader popping up with no text. The fix will be in AND 1.60. :p
 
These bugs involves the Sports Mod ...

1. The Tournament Arena doesn't require say horses or elephants. Unless they are running up to each other to joust they should require horses OR elephants.

2. Please add a Public Pool building say something like this ...

Public Pool (Req Athletics, Modern Sanitation)
Happy: +1
Health: +1

Obsolete: Space Colonies

Special Abilities
  • +10% City Maintenance
 
Me and my friend, while playing in a team (I don't know if this bug appears on solo games) have found an unusual bug.

None of the projects availible in the game can be finished, because they all list that they require "Laser Auto-Defenses" and that's all. While finding a tech that enables for example encyclopedia or theory of evolution or any other project it still lists a requirement in LAD. The entries are correct in Civopedia, but not in the game. We've tried to go so far as to check if Laser Auto-Defenses can be completed but we didn't have time to play as much.

This was a bug in AND 1.52 I believe. I'll double check that it's still present, but downloading 1.53 & patching to 1.55 should solve that bug (but break saves).

I went through the entries in Assets/XML/Text and they do not contain the intro screen text. In fact if I do a "search content" in windows through all of the Rise of Mankind folder I do not find this text, even not the English one. It seems to be hidden somewhere in the code and now I reach my limits...

I did really a big chunk of translations for RoM and now I can´t use them if AND is installed. I would also be willing to do translations for AND but I need at least some help :help: how to overcome the intro screen emptiness :please:.
 
Windows doesn't search the contents of XML files, even when all possible options are enabled. Tested with XP SP3.
