Using the single digits in front, along with the additive link, is archaic. Used to exist in Greek too, but only for some cases (eg 18).
92 should be pronounced as 29^log29 92 btw.

Maybe it is due to being over water for longer; the country is almost all mountains.
Personally I like how it looks - though it needs expanded borders to be suitably byzantine.

This was the map of Known Space in the Hellas - Lands of Sun & Stone RPG, which was essentially Ancient Greece IN SPACE!

As this was a few years ago, it took me a long time to notice it's basically a slightly altered version of the eastern Mediterranean.
