That country seems impractical, to say the least.

I once made a Civ2 map of Grottland. I.E. Greece and Scotland joined together. But i lost it in a HD crash.

It was still just Austrian Empire back then; became Austria-Hungary after the massive hungarian revolt in the 19th century (put down by Russia, btw - then AH backstabbed it in the Crimean War by staying neutral).
Valahia (sic) is a nice touch.

impractical ? That's the Green Belt theory for you , since 1960s or 50s , kept up even when Gyna be the best ally of the US . Because it is offered to [other] people with the expectation that

is just a mirage as it is firmly believed to be , paper and papiermache and all

The world saw its two hottest days ever recorded one after the other on Monday and Tuesday as climate change and the El Nino weather pattern looked likely to drive another scorching Northern Hemisphere summer.

Can someone explain how the records for 4 continents have not been broken since 1960?

I am surprised how far above the equator the line of hottest countries is.

Here are a couple more maps, of average temperature rather than max. They are very different to the above, but the hottest are still north of the equator.

Antarctica (the island, anyway) looks pretty warm there.

Well it's the desert belt. Pretty sure biomes have an effect on the climate: the equator gets more sunlight more consistency but the rainforest shields or absorbs a good deal of the heat, but there's nothing that will do that in a desert.
