The word for "I" in various euro languages (and one central asian one too) :)

Turkey must be a fun place to visit for people named "Ben"
Ben:Hi, Ben Ben

But usually one isn't actually named Ben but merely called Ben.
And English speekers are typically unfazed by Isaacs and Eileens.
The Dutch do say ‘Ik ben’…
Good one. Should have seen that coming.

I don't see how those two things could be related? Incest is never good for the resulting children as far as I know.

"...never good..."

It can cause good and bad genetic properties. And most cultures do indeed attach more weight to the bad outcomes than the good outcomes.

I would rather say: "an avoidable risk" because it is a "known" risk you could avoid.

In practice, when those siblings have not too many bad genes, and have not too much inbreeding already in their parents family, the risk are not that big

But how far will that principle bring us when we "know" also of not related couples their full genetic coding....
are we going to forbid offspring if we have a similar foreseeable knowing of possible defects ?
are we going to allow offspring of siblings when there are few bad genes ?

if aware of the thing one might use "Merhaba, benim adım Ben" which translates as "Hi, my name is ..."

Slavic ja, az, jas, jaz, all come from an original jaz.
Join them to Greek εγώ, Latin ego (see its descendants: je, io, yo), Germanic Ich/Ik/I… they'are all ultimately descendants of the same Proto-Indo-European *éǵh₂.

They look more like Jelly Babies than little Switzerlands.

So the Iroquis were just a branch of a tribe? If so, why were they chosen as a faction in Civ3? (instead of larger groups) :)
The Iroquois were a confederacy, it's just not a very good map. Four of the constituent tribes are listed on the map as separate tribes- the Onondaga, Onedia, Cayuga, and Mohawks, although the latter is placed on the wrong side of Lake Ontario, and for some reason Oneida are missing altogether.

I mean the map also uses Costanoan, which is the name Spanish explorers gave to the Ohlone and hasn't been used by...anybody in over 50 years. Plus they placed the geographic locus of the Ohlone a good 150 miles south of where it ought to be. It looks to have been placed around SLO/Moro Bay; it should be up around San Jose/Bay Peninsula area.

The Miwok are also quite absurdly far from their historically-attested Geographic range of Sacramento-Contra Costa-Lake-Marin. The Patwin have been placed around like Hollister/SJB, when really they should be up in the North Bay around present day Vacaville.

It's almost like the map drawer just grabbed a list of California tribal groups and kinda plopped them down wherever.
