Maybe its not that unbalanced, at least there are a few quite strong nations apart from Britain and France.
Predicitions:
1) Vietnam and Japan will aquire a Great powers patronage (if they haven't already) and be snarling attack dogs to the great lumbering Chinese Tiger. ;)

Japan looks interesting...as does Vietnam...as does Poland...as does Turkey...

China looks interesting

It's the Chinese DRAGON! Not "Tiger" The DRAGON :p

I will stay away from this evil nes due to obvious reasons... Or steal one of the Superpowers... :mischief:

Spain's amount of EC is frightening, however. It's scary to think how much damage they can do. But as they say, the bigger they are, the harder they fall.

I think Kal is going with the size stat for this NES, so that should help some.

Wouldnt they just get more bang for their buck? if they used the size thing

... :p That said I've always thought the Dragon was a more appropriate symbol.

The Kingdom of Spain: 21
The United Kingdom: 19
Never seen better code for "the rest of you are screwed" or "omg, cold war!"

Well, I'm sure that there are some powers stronger than FRANCE in this world, especially after 1799. ;)

Already ongoing, the British have been propping them up. I really hope that if Panda is beaten to the Gaelic Republic, he will take Vietnam - they even named a king after him, to a certain extent! :p

It is frightening, ofcourse. But Spain is even less stable than the UK - as soon as it slips, hell will break out.

If it is any consolation at all, the UK and Spain could work together against common enemies. Then again, that doesn't sound all that consoling...

Not really. Military stats don't require that size limit thing.

You got a big Empire, You need the military to keep a certain amount of control...you send said military of to die, said large terretories might just become Opportunistic.

The point of a size stat is to limit increases nation wide, eg: education, because you have so damn many people that major changes are hard to implement.

Applying the size stat to military training makes sense because if you've got a huge country, odds are you've got a huge military, and so reforms take time. Applying it to military size doesn't, because getting 10,000 guys to hold rifles and shoot people is pretty much the same regardless of how big your country is.

But if your Bigger and have more people why cant you recruit more then others?

Because an Eco. Point is an Eco. Point regardless of your nation's size, and ostensibly soldiers won't settle for less pay just because you're a bigger country. To get more would mean an Eco. Point would have to vary in value (which obviously doesn't work for sensibility's sake) or that your troops would be magically willing to work for less money than somebody else's.

If the United States had a population of 100 million instead of 295 million, and only consisted of the original 13 states for example, it'd still cost the same to train and pay a soldier to the same level of quality. National size and population have no bearing on the resources required to obtain a soldier.

You get more by having a bigger economy by virtue of being a bigger nation. Not by getting more out of a given amount of economy.

You dont know what the hell your talking about.
