My ideal scenario for marijuana legalization would be to make it a cottage industry.

Independent growers would sell their harvests to local cannabis shops.

I wouldn't want Marlboro selling packs of joints. Imagine what kind of crap they'd put in the weed, considering all that they put in tobacco.

pot was taxed back in the 1930s, thats how Congress got around the Constitution - they put a nasty tax on industrial hemp (the real target) and then didn't issue stamps. The SCOTUS ruled that unconstitutional in the 60s and the Feds ignored the ruling and just reclassified pot with other narcotics. Of course there aint nothing in the Constitution that says Congress can ban or regulate narcotics, but since when do the Dem/Repubs pay any attention to the actual laws of the land?

Warhead, this isn't an idea, but a fact! As long as the government won't gain any money from weed, it will be labeled as an immoral, no-good killer drug by society. This mislabeling is spurred and financed by the government itself after all.

I'm sure it would be sold in as many varieties as it's consumed. In packs of joints, baked into things, or just in big pieces like pipe tobacco is sold in.

I Was Playing Sim city 4, fixing My budget By Adjusting taxes, Then i realized, The biggest reason why Marijauna will always be illegal.

Taxation.... alcohol used to be illegal until the Goverment found out ways to control the alcohol market by taxing it off. If you want my opinion, this just kills free trade.

NOW, You can buy ILLEGAL Alcohol (bootleg,home-made) from any source that sells it; The reason this alcohol is illegal because the Goverment Can't Make Tax dollars Off Of Private Sales.

The Same Applies To cigarettes.

this Means The Goverment Is Going to be Open to whatever Makes Them Prosperus ( think of Those Tax Dollars When You Walk in a Crowded Beer Store).

Marijauana will never be taxed because it Can't Be contained, Or controlled. The goverment wants it so they have power to all the plants, meaning they get all the tax dollars, but that will prove to be too big a challenge because there is already so many plants out there, and the plant only takes 2 months to grow! They Naturally Reporduce Just Like weeds do, Where do you think the name comes from? Back then there used to be forests of weed plants.

If we can solve This Problem, we have leaped a Mile On the cannibis War.


Marijauan has been given a bad name over the 100 years of attempted Extermionation. People Are Automatically Going to Shrug off Weed as a Bad thing because it's Labelled as an illegal drug. If You are open to both the negative and positive facts, you realize alot!

it's also illegal to grow your own tobacco because there's a tobacco tax.

but nobody does it anyway, because just buying it is easier.

but there is money in products that compete with it (and in fighting it), and Washington runs on money. Remember also that the "Partnership for a Drug-Free America" receives millions of dollars from the alcohol and tobacco industries.

There is illegal Smokes going around in my town 200-20$

Canada makes its tax dollars off the smokers and people are buying them unregulated
