Bad1: The Mesopotamia Conquest!

Played but I didn't have time to make a turn log (10 turns, btw).

After all, all we are doing is general expansion. :)

Pre-turn – load up Eric Sumo’s new LP. Massive :D
Lower lux by 20%. Why you may ask? So do i!

IBT- pheonicia kicks us out.

1- Raga warrior > worker.
Change Babbling Brook from settler to granary.
We can trade for some 172g. no real need right now. So I wait.

IBT- nada

2- pheonicia get cuniform for 100g.
We can get myst now, but I don’t see the point of it. Later is better.

IBT - nope.

3- not paying for myst pays up goodtime!
bad1_sw_myst.jpg

Build Drunken Furriae (has wines and furs) > rax.
Build FoodStamps > granary.
Up sci to 100. knock a turn of wateringholes.

Ibt- nada

4- up lux. Down sci a bit.
Farmstead worker > rax.
Pop a hut for 25g.
Got to suez.
No trades available.
Fiddle with sliders.

Ibt - a warrior almost dies to a barb.

5- IRRIGATION IS IN.
Now, a dilemma.
Horses or spearmen?
Our geography dictates horses, so I point it that way.
Due in 13 turns @ 100%.

Raga worker > rax (those BGs and hills will be nice shield sites)

Contact made with Cleo and Hanni (Egypt and hittieites)
Not too much money about.
Were up on everyone

Ibt- ZZzzz

6- not much

Ibt- ZZzz

7- same same

IBT - kicked out of Sumeria.

8- Babbling Brook granary > warrior.
Start roading RAGAs furs. Next will road the wines off Harran.

Ibt - babbling rock riots

10- fix towns.
Harran worker > rax.

HBR in 9. 20% lux.
We have 215g.
There is THE WHEEL out there. We can buy it and 36g from Babylon for any of our techs.

Will try and crowd control the riotees. Got it, play tonight or tomorrow.

Hmm, perhaps your right... i just figured foreign workers are so lame at working, an war is quite a long way off... but then again... this is my first SG.. ive never had to justifiy my play and put it up for scrutiny! :)

:kudos: to Soul on the names.. makes me smile :)

looks like a good lil turnset.

Also, i dont use any of the programs with civ.. like civassist or whatever.. would people reccomend i do , an learn how to use them?

lurker's comment: Not a good move; having foreigners in your cities leads to w/w problems if you go to war with their civ.
i believe abbadonmeant the home workers go back.
right?
but why get them back into towns anyways?
we needmore workers out.

lurker's comment: As I understand it, she/he meant to add the traded foreign workers to the city populations in order to speed-up Settler production. It not only creates the w/w problem that I mentioned, but it also increases the chances of your cities 'flipping'.

He is right im afriad, i bumped up city size by joining the workers.

I'm afraid joining workers is an awful move, from my standpoint. Better tiles is usually just as good as more tiles, early, and once you get 3+ fully worked tiles the extra pop shrinks to insignificance, then nuisance. More workers. More.

Houston, we have a problem:

If someone could dig into their PediaIcons the things I need to type under burial mound I'd be infinitely grateful (braces for impact against jokes of infinity, hoping there's no other mathematician readin the thread ;) ).

Until I get an answer, I request a swap :twitch:

*cough* ;)
