Brave New Realpolitik

OOC: Ok. Dont care. Accept you lost power. Otherwise, if we do elections again and there is tie, the Emperor will vote for me to take power. So, lost cause. I want power. I joined Jeho's party only because I want position. I do not care about ideoloy or anything I just want power. No one will take it from me.

ooc: Actually, there is no provision for electoral ties in the constitution. :crazyeye:

So we have apparently reached a hilarious impasse. You haven't technically gained power. There is no chief of Rio at the moment and no way to resolve this, because no one has the power to.

OOC: There is. I assassinate you and get power. Do not cross me. When I want power, I take it, either by elections or by killing all rivals.

OOC: How do you know that I don't have people watching you right now, hoping you do that?

Here's the thing: I die, you get caught, because IC it would be obvious who did it. You gain no power. You could however, use due process, and this will get resolved.

Either way, please assassinate me.:goodjob:

OOC: I resolve things by sending people to Gulags. I am like Stalin. You cross me and you are past. I want power and I will get it. Do not care how, but I will get it.

OOC: Jeho, do you agree that we should build a Worker in Rio? It is the best thing for our economy right now.

OOC: Well, that'll happen. Also, Christos, it might be kinda hard to send Teekaj to a Gulag because we haven't got a Siberia right now...
So, where do we go from here?

Civil war. Riots in the streets. Mass chaos. Dogs living with cats.

OOC: We do not need Siberia in order to send people to Gulags.

Also, until Dot says otherwise, I am Governor of Rio.

ooc: I would like to make it clear right now Christos, that if you act foolishly or tyrannically you will find that all power that has been entrusted to you will suddenly disappear. There will be no gulags, assassinations or secret police forces. If these do occur, then if I don't dismiss you under the Prime Ministers power to dismiss lower offices, the Emperor will almost certainly dissolve the civic government, whereupon the people will likely vote for someone else.

Need I remind you that "taking power by extra-electoral means" has never worked out for you when you've gone up against me ;)

OOC: Was just joking. Now, let's get serious. What should we build? I say workers.

ooc: The discretion of what to build is up to you Christos, although I do recall that Sonereal and I strongly advised a shrine be built in Rio (afterall how will we interpret the auspices and know where to build if not for a shrine!) as part of our efforts against Teekaj's blasphemy.

I would advise that if you insist upon a worker you do it via worker > shrine. Continuity with Teekaj's directives but without the apostasy you see :p

ooc: Obviously if I get a nickname, it will be Teekaj the Apostate. Though Teekaj the Priest-Hater sounds good too.

OOC: Ok. I will do first worker and then shrine. Economy comes always first.

OCC: WELL, actually if we produce a worker in -18- turns, the only thing the could improve is 3 tiles to farms, which don't actually provide GPT, the only thing that does is the silk, but we would need to research: calender, mining, and masonry which would currently cost 29 turns, to make more science we need more people, so to do that the best course of action would be to create a granary, which could then make a specialist to work the copper which we will soon acquire, so we can then get a worker quicker, so a granary would be more economically efficient.

IC: Speech: Fellow Brazilians and servants to our glorious emperor, we need a granary, a place to store our food, no longer shall we keep it in a pile, easy to be stolen or become rotten, like savage brutes. For we, Brazilians, define the difference between man and animal. This will also allow more food to be produced and stored over time, so more merry mouths may be fed. I thank you for your time, and may the emperor watch over us all.

OOC: Nope, we get calendar and that spice up NE of the town to get GPT. :crazyeye: Don't worry, the incredibly competent possibly-still chief of Rio knew what he was doing.
