I was baptized and it has (and probably always will have) an ill effect on me.
What was the water used unsanitary?
And whether it has an ill effect on you is up to you in this particular case. You want to view it as a negative, then it will be negative....OR, you could view it as a positive, and then it would be positive.
This ones on you....not anyone else.
It's something I cannot undo and I want to be the one who makes the decision whether I choose for God or not. Not my parents.
Baptism isnt a 'get out of hell free' card. You can, and probably have, pretty well undone it.
I have known a lot of people who, although baptized as infants, got re-baptized as adults because they wanted it to be an adult decision they made for precisely the same reason.
Bottom line, you need to realize that it is indeed 'YOU' that makes the decisions in this regard. Not whether you were baptized as an infant.
If you want to discuss this, please open a new thread and let's not discuss this in this circumcision thread.
Sorry, didnt read this until I had typed everything up. Won't make another comment about it then. But it is an interesting debate topic in regards to baptism.
