COM2 - n00bile deities

@Pindicator, looks like you were late just 1 minute with your post :D

I say let's go whack England :)

:devil: lurker's comment:
Forget the English jungle. Get Map Making and get off the rock; Mongol territory looks juicy as does the uninhabited island. And since you are COMM/AGRI then harbors are cheap.

Good call on the wheel, now you know where the horses are and the odds of iron being readily available were really low. It is a little early yet to take Salamanca off settler/worker farm status as you are going to need settlers for the other island and you can always use them to beef up the populations in the other towns, making granaries unnecessary. :devil:

Well, things do seem a little clearer after a night's sleep. :)

We could research Maps in about 20-25 turns by ourselves. Spend that time building forces and settlers and we might be ready to invade Mongolia pretty soon after that. The bottomline is that while we could probably destroy England without that much trouble, there's really nothing to gain there either. Let the English chop down some of that jungle (they'll do it eventually, right?) for us.

:devil: lurker's comment:

Don't know if I would bother sefl-researching maps. Someone will do it for us and you have the trade bait and cash to buy it. Make a max run on Republic if the economy can stand it. :devil:

Whee

Preturn:

Switch Cattagrus to a barracks. I reaserch Republic at 80% because 90% will make Salamanca unhappy. Republic will come in 45 turns. Hope fully i can shorten that.

Turn 1 1400 BC : I found Mauch Chunk at the spot the settler was at. We finish roading the horsies. Switch Allenghey to a Granary , hopefully as a prebuild to something.

Turn 2 1375 BC:

Grand River
Barracks--> Warrior.

We meet the Inca , they are up HBR , CB , Masonry and Iron Working. We trade Philosophy to the Hittitites for HBR and Masonry and 48g.
We trade Masonry to the Mongols for IW and 70g.

Turn 3 1350 BC:

Salamanca
Settler--> Mountie

Our curraghs keep exploring our eneimies coasts'. The settler heads to its city spot.

IT: The Hittitites ask us too leave , who cares.

Turn 4 1325 BC:

Niagra Falls
Barracks--> Mountie

Turn 5 1300 BC:

Grand River
Warrior--> Mountie

Our Hittitite curragh can get to a new continent next turn.

Turn 6 1275 BC:

Our Hittite curragh makes it too the new contient.

IT: Tonwanda riots. Woopsies

Turn 7 1250 BC:

We found St. Regis by the Jungle Lake. Switch Allenghey to a Mountie. I knew I'd need that prebuild Granary!

Turn 8 1225 BC:

Allenghey
Mountie--> Granary

I move the Mounties into cities where they can serve as MP.

Turn 9 1200 BC:

Not much really. Curragh movements blah blah

Turn 10 1175 BC:

Grand River
Mountie--> Mountie

Turn 11 1150 BC:
We trade Philosophy and 30g for Mapmaking.
Switch Niagra Falls to a galley and Salamanca to a Settler.

Turn 12 1125 BC:

Salamanca
Settler--> Settler

Niagra Falls
Galley--> Galley

Mauch Chunk
Warrior--> Granary

the Mongols have a galley going towards the unclaimed island. That cant be good.

IT: The Aztecs build the Great Wall. Uh oh , they are advanced if they have built a wonder that comes with Construction!

Turn 13 1100 BC:

We load the settler on the galley and get ready to unload him.

Turn 14 1075 BC:

As we start to finish navigating the Incan island , we figure out its pretty big! Proably one of the biggest continents.

It: St Regis Riots. Wow im really out of it today.

Last turn 1050 BC:

We found Centraila on the other island. We have another settler waiting to be transported next turn. We ferryed a worker to the island , we might need to crank out another settler , I dont really know. So far we only have a grand total of 3 Mounties. :/ We trade the English writing for 57g and CB. We give the English Phiosophy and HBR and 83g for Mathematics. There is a big blue nation , most likely Germany or Maya , we can meet next turn. Republic is going to come in in 24 turns. Pretty uneventful turns.

Edit: Whoops , heres your save.

I am back early.

Good turns everyone and nice trading. Sounds like we need to control the other island as a priority. hate jungles Keep cranking on republic and building those mounties for a Mongol invasion.

Pindicator go ahead unless we hear Commodified say "I got it" before you do. He can always fall in behind you.

commodified :bump: Delayed start.
pindicator UP

Okay, priorities look to be building up mountie military for a mongol invasion (hopefully before they get keshiks) and settling the other island.

Turn the entertainer in St. Regis into a scientist. That town looks to be a flip risk unless we :hammer: the English.
Change Salamanca to Mountie.

Everything else seems peachy, so i hit enter.

IBT
We get the Forbidden Palace message
Niagara: Galley->Mountie
Grand River: Mountie->Mountie
Cattaraugus: Barracks->Settler -- after pop 6 they will be unhappy.

1) 1025BC
The Mongols have beat us to the northern island! As our galley heads north I already spot a settler pair north of Centralia.

We make contact with Korea, our big blue friends. They are up Mysticism and down CoL and Philo.

2) 1000BC
My bet is that the Mongols are going to settle to grab that fish NW of Centralia, so I'm moving my galley up to take the next available spot.

Hire a scientist at Niagara to prevent rioting.

Trade Inca Math for Myst + 54g

IBT
Oil Springs: Mountie->Galley

3) 975BC
Hire scientist in Mauch Chunk to prevent rioting. A mountie is on the way for temporary MP duty.

Mongols will make contact with England either next turn or the turn after. So I sell them Mysticism for all their gold (234).

Make contact with Greece. They are up Construction and down CoL.

IBT
Salamanca: Mountie->Settler

4) 950BC
Settle Akwesasne on northern island by a cow. Set to warrior for MP. Spot a horse resource north of the town and will settle there next.

5) 925BC
Contact the Aztecs, as they also have a settler pair on our island. Prime time real estate, folks! :crazyeye: They are up Construction and down nothing and I have no idea where they came from. Best guess is north of England.

IBT

The Aztecs have their town in such a bad spot that I can only think they must be picking up some kind of resource there...

Niagara: Settler->Mountie
Tonawanda: Barracks->Mountie

6) 900BC

Stopping here. The Mongols look like they are about to attack a colony. Here is the save and a screen shot. Don't know if there's anything we can do for the colonies, but we need to discuss war strategy.

Currently we have 6 mounties, most of which are pulling temporary MP duty. We also have a settler in Niagara, and that northern island is looking more and more cramped every turn. I would like to grab the horses up north with our new settler, but we may not be able to do this while at war with Mongolia.

Okay had a look at the save....

We should move our worker out of the Mongolians way , maybe to come and save him some time , because im almost positive they are going to attack us. They are a very aggresive nation , and are running out of room. There is no way to save Centrailia and the galley in Niagra Falls cant reach the island in time. The other colony proably cant be saved unless we take one of our galleys and load a mountie up , we can reach Akseweane in 4 turns. Switch Salamanca to a Mountie. If we load up all 6 mounties , 7 once Salamanca finishes its mountie , we can proably take Darhan. The rest of Mongolia is likely packed with units. So we shouldnt stay on their island too long. Raze and leave is the key here.

Man, I'd really like to hold off on our GA. I can't remember but do we have an embassy with the Mongols? This would improve relations a bit.

I will pick this up in about an hour so any other comments are suggested.

Yes we have an embassy with them. Maybe try to negotiate a ROP deal?

Ok we can get a ROP with him for 38g. Well worth it since we will be a republic by the end of the ROP and he'll likely move to gracious. Then...:evil:

I got it and will report back later.

Very good news. It's unlikely they'd still stab us in the back after an RoP... isn't it? :( I think we need to make sure every town has a unit in it, if we can. At least until we crush the Mongolian threat.

I haven't moved a thing on the start of the save, I don't think. If we think it's safe and the Mongols placated with an RoP, I'd recommend taking the settler in Niagara and sending him north to get those horses.

Yes, they are going to attack all right. Ahh, this allways smiling Timujin :(

Whomp, pindicator still has 4 turns left. I don't mind of course if it is OK by him, just thought there was a bit of misunderstanding here.
