A blobfish.

You sure? Based on e.g. the shape of the mouth, that looks more like some kind of pufferfish to me...

Here's (an artist's impression of) a blobfish in situ, from Wiki:

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/File:Two_Psychrolutes_marcidus.jpg

Here's the only picture in FishBase:

http://www.fishbase.org/photos/PicturesSummary.php?ID=14347&what=species

And here's one at uglyanimalsoc.com...

http://uglyanimalsoc.com/meet-the-mascots/bizarre-blobfish/

These two specimens were trawled up, so have both probably been somewhat deformed by the decompression

And here's a basic description of the Tetraodontidae...

http://www.fishbase.org/summary/FamilySummary.php?ID=448

...and another picture from Wiki, of a pufferfish (possibly even the same species as in your .gif), after being molested:

(I tried to embed those 4 images directly in the post, but either I did something wrong, or I wasn't allowed to, sorry)

Blobfish don't look so good when taken out of their natural environment(600-1,200m below the surface)
The popular impression of the blobfish as bulbous and gelatinous is partially an artifact of the decompression damage done to specimens when they are brought to the surface from the extreme depths in which they live. In their natural environment, blobfish appear more typical of their superclass Osteichthyes (bony fish)

Spoiler Disney's Ariel as a modern character :

I'd quite fancy her too, but I'm sure we can share. :p

Check out the artist's DA account to see other modernised Disney princesses.

Some look similar and most of them look a little sleep-deprived, but I wouldn't go as far as to say that they're all the same.

I dunno, they remind me of the Miss World or whatever paegant. Every girl is different but all their "features" are the same. Exact same proportions, even the same make up. They all look the same to me
There are common elements for some of them, notably the eyes and eyebrows, and I noticed that Pocahontas' and Snow White's mouths are exactly the same shape.

Are these all the artist has done? I'd be curious to see a modern interpretation of Aurora.

Ariel is gorgeous!

I believe she's intending to do more Disney characters.

I believe you've mistaken for me for a web artist of Hispanic descent.
