I think we should move bribe the legion if the price is less than 150g. Roskilde is either on our continent or to the north east (not 100% sure about this almost). Well have to get a ship soon (either through barbs or through bribing).

I never thought of the fact that bribing the legion will give us another NONE unit. If the price is right we should absolutly do it. Another question, do you people use "black clicking"?

There is also a way to see exactly where Roskilde is. It is both time consuming and by me considered a cheat. If you click a square the square is centered on the map, unless there is a city in that square. So by clicking on all the squares on the peninsula it is possible to see if there's a square where the map is not centered, and that's where Roskilde is. This is an option, but I consider it cheating, and don't think we're in any big need to do it.:)

Yes, hire a scientist in RC!!
I am in favor of luring and briging the Vik Legion. Trying to attack a possibly vet Legion on forest could actually lose us our own Legion, and at best leave him severely damaged requiring many turns of healing. Bribe the unit, giving us a good None unit, and maybe by the time we find the city (if any) on the peninsula we'll have enough gold built up again to bribe the city. If not, certainly enough units to attack it.

I would be okay with black clicking, but it somehow takes away from the experience of exploration for me. It's more fun to live with a little mystery, just like a civilization of that time would have had to do.

Now would be the time for Vice President Octavian's useless comment. However, he is very busy at the moment, and would simply like to remind people to submit articles for the next edition of The Fanatical. Thank you.

Sounds like I have not been fired yet from The Fanatical staff...

I don't really care if the Legion is more than $150 or not. What I do care is: that it is a None! So somehow, Jayne's yellow dot and blue dot are significant. Does anyone know? ?

We do not want to save money, but then have a supported unit. Further, I heartily recommend the paltry $6 IPRB in one of my polls, but think we might avoid other IPRB at the moment in the interest of bribing an army of None units.

Looking at my blue dot more carefully, that's the point where we were no longer nearer our town, but a Viking one. Now, that town could be across the water on another island. But if it is on our island, I think it makes it near the GLS where the whale and fish are. Have I worked it out correctly?

So our Dip could be back on the Blue Dot, and the Legion would still be a None, methinks. Btw, we can sense the price and then perhaps still back every one of our units safely away. An option.

I recommend: Chariot runs. Bribe Legion if we can $afford it! Be decisive.

I don't think we need to know exactly where their city is.

If I have it right, the Viking legion could be on the blue dot and it would be a NONE. I'm not sure if it would be cheaper to bribe, because doesn't the bribe price matter on the distance from the capital not just any city?

Plus, for every turn we spend trying to draw the legion away to save a buck, the Vikings get two turns to build/move more.

I am about to post my Plan Report. I agree with the Duke, we need not dally. If the Chariot runs (prudently), we may be able to Bribe the Legion after it gives chase. Without delay.

I wish someone would study Castle Jayne in the download.

Please remember to Charge the LN Settler (and others, every chance you get)

REGIA CIVITAS: Scientist wins by a landslide.
RC Serf on Road, building 7 per turn.
  after one turn 7/30, IPRB=10 $6 Warrior
Archer Police in 4 turns, then build ... Caravan
Marketplace lost poll to Wonder + Caravan
Send Scientist away, work on Road Plains to slow growth
LN Settler, Road on Plains N of Little Nemo
the poll is then truly undecided, so
Road on Plains SE SE of Little Nemo, toward BL & CIV
Little Nemo, Move Warrior E, Serf onto Road
Then settler in 5.

TFalls: poll was Temple=3 Settler=2. I am leaning to ...
Settler, because I feel we can build some cities soon.
TFalls Settler: complete irrigation? for TFalls
Then Road Plains to Bedfont Lakes
Then S to Forest and build Road
TFalls Settler near Elysium road, road NE, Road N to CJ
Gabba Gabba: move serfs to Road Plains and Forest
  Hides Caravan 29/50, IPRB=30 $2, Caravan in 5
Bedfont Lakes: Wine Caravan 24/50   move serfs to Forest
  IPRB=30 $4, then Caravan in 6
Civvium: complete Temple in 5 turns as planned
then start Caravan, Settler, Dip, or Archer

Marl Downs: Please move Phx to East Road encampment.
  Settler Roads due north
Octavia's Point: Settlers 3/40, Elvis in 3
Consider moving Phx NE to quell unhappiness
Archer: N N to Pure Green, Whale Point City
  Mord Settler ditto, found city
Neuma: Archer 6/30, change to Settlers
Reneaux: Move Warriors NW and camp, serf to River Plains
then Temple 4/40 in 12 turns
  Settlers to complete Wine Mine
Dellham: Settlers in 2, then? Temple? Settlers? Archer?
Castle Jayne: Crisis, any ideas?
Legendary City: Archers 27/30 in 1 turn
then build ... Temple? Prefer an Archer to a Settler...

Regarding CJ, Archer seems safest, and we can use it to guard a new city. Then start a Temple, and TFalls a Settler. Or vice versa... Not sure.

Although this may appear highly irregular, here it is! Impeach me if you wish, but we were just trying to keep the game going...

Jayne (10:02 AM EST DST) :
I'll move tonight. Things have been quiet, and most towns don't need new build queue decisions.
GaryNemo (10:24 AM) :
Yep. In how many hours, do you imagine? Can you be online and tell me when?

GaryNemo (11:43 AM) :
Dell19 couldn't get in to comment:
CFC Cannot find server or DNS Error
GaryNemo (11:43 AM) :
So we may need to hold. Also, I'll have visitors after lunch in 75 minutes, so I won't be able to summarize right away until they leave...

Jayne (11:53 AM) :
I'm not having any problems getting into CFC apart from it being very slow. I won't be playing for about 3.5-4 hours yet
GaryNemo (11:56 AM) :
3.5 hours sounds fine. I'll ICQ you as I make my summaries. Cities, Settlers, not military nor Science... http://forums.civfanatics.com/usercp.php?s= still fails...
Jayne (11:58 AM) :
I've just managed to refresh the demo page, but it took a long time. I think the problens started since I first came on an hour ago.
GaryNemo (11:59 AM) :
Yes. I'm off to lunch w my wife. See you in 1.5 - 2 Hours.
Jayne (11:59 AM) : OK. Hope you enjoy it! :)

GaryNemo (1:27 PM) :
I'm back. It's 1:30, cfc pings, but no browser screen response... Damn!
GaryNemo (2:02 PM) :
My guests have come and gone. But still no CFC Forums...

Jayne (2:27 PM) :
Got in via http://www.eqforge.com/
GaryNemo (2:31 PM) :
I tried that earlier and it didn't work then. Trying again...
Jayne (2:31 PM) :
Didn't work first time but did 2 minutes later when I was going to show my other half the error message. Must have just come up!
GaryNemo (2:32 PM) :
The question is .. should we wait another day anyway. Most people have been held up... I just got in, looking...
Jayne (2:34 PM) :
It's been so quiet for ages, and the polls seem to have a reasonable turnout of votes so I think I'd like to play. Most towns don't need new build items and the main problem of the Vikings seems to have most people agreeing what to do.
Jayne (2:34 PM) : Also, I can't guarantee I can play tomorrow.
GaryNemo (2:35 PM) :
Ok. How much time do I have to write a report on the cities and polls?
GaryNemo (2:35 PM) :
Or, have you considered the details, and do not need a report from me?
Jayne (2:36 PM) :
I play in an hour, but as there's only a couple of polls I can look through and draw my own conclusions from them.
Jayne (2:36 PM) :
Just let me know if there's anything in particular you need me to bear in mind.
Jayne (2:37 PM) :
What do you think about the caravan trick I posted about in the cheating poll?
GaryNemo (2:37 PM) :
Do I have 10 minutes? 15? I didn't look in cheating poll...
Jayne (2:38 PM) : Take your time!!
GaryNemo (2:40 PM) :
I voted for everything, but abstained on the Black-Clicking. Of course, we're Black-Clicking in ... Censored!
Jayne (2:40 PM) : Same as me!
GaryNemo (2:41 PM) :
I'm working on it now, shouldn't take very long...

GaryNemo (2:58 PM) :
Had a phone call, nearly done, now Too Many Connections!
GaryNemo (3:14 PM) :
One more minute, ok? I'm at the point of Preview. Still worried silly about CJ.
GaryNemo (3:19 PM) :
Posted. Thanx for waiting for me.
GaryNemo (3:22 PM) :
Regarding Cheating and Caravans, I agree with following Gotm Rules. Maxing trade onto ocean before caravan delivery is good practice. I've learned to always take the time to do it, yes. Glad you are reading up! Every extra bit of knowledge helps.

Jayne (3:31 PM) :
Thanks for the plan. I'm just about to get started. What's your preference with CJ - RB settler or swap to archer?
GaryNemo (3:31 PM) :
Archer seems safest, and we can use it to guard a new city. Then Temple.
GaryNemo (3:32 PM) : Uh, I better post that!
Jayne (3:32 PM) : ok

Jayne (3:41 PM) :
VIKING HOORSEMAN SPOTTED ON RIVER NEAR NEUMA!!!!!!
GaryNemo (3:41 PM) : Slippery fella!
Jayne (3:42 PM) : I shall change Neuma back to warrior I think.
It's undefended
GaryNemo (3:42 PM) : Yep
GaryNemo (3:43 PM) :
This is the trouble with insecure borders... We'll clear it up in time. Plus, you have a Dip nearby
Jayne (3:44 PM) :
Just thought of that. The dip may reach horseman this go. Not really sure because it's disappeared from view again!
Jayne (3:52 PM) :
Can you remember if a decision was made as to what to do with the new Dellham sett?
Jayne (3:57 PM) :
ROSKILDE found!!!
GaryNemo (4:00 PM) :
Can't recall, very little discussion. Sorry, Airborne man was here...
GaryNemo (4:01 PM) :
So, you bribed their Legion, None, and Neuma is secure?
Jayne (4:02 PM) :
Bribed Legion and Horseman. Legion x2 Chariot and Dip outside Roskilde. Neuma has warrior guard and back to building Sett
GaryNemo (4:03 PM) :
Great! I'm going to post our whole log when we're done here, if that's ok...
Jayne (4:03 PM) : We will have $102 at beginning of next go to bribe
Jayne (4:03 PM) : ok..posting is fine
