[RD] Daily Graphs and Charts II: Another 10,000 to come.

What's a unit here?
One unit equals 8g of pure alcohol. A drink is:

12oz Beer (how strong is beer?)
5oz Wine (1.7 units @ 14%)
1.5oz Spirits (2 units @ 40%)

4 drinks / day = 52 units / week
½ drink / day = 6.5 units / week

I think the effect that is being measured here is mostly what El Mac says.

It's still not a good graph, since it doesn't differentiate between the frequency, type of alcohol, and what percent of your income you spend on it.
Because I'd guess there are more alcoholics in the lower income group than in the higher income group, but this graph doesn't show this information.

A worthless comparison.

With male peacocks, having a large and shiny tail is a demonstration of overall fitness and is found to be attractive to peahens. I'm not sure that alcohol intake capacity of human males is seen by women as an overall sign of fitness. :mischief:
I think women like men who can get away w stuff within reason (the within reason part is the hard part for us)

Once you got a mate already no need to keep focusing on maladaptive displays of fitness.

What's up with most of South America and Mexico not liking Argentina?

Football!
Really? Everyone else has major geopolitical reasons for their animosity but they care about some guys who kick a ball real good? South America must be a paradise, or they got their priorities screwy.

:dunno: seems likely though

You got a moderator to cheat for you! No fair, docta Jones!
What's up with most of South America and Mexico not liking Argentina?
In Mexico specifically it's that Argentina nearly always beats them at football. Just in the last 30 years, I think Mexico's beaten Argentina exactly once, while Argentina keeps knocking Mexico out of every competitions, including winning a final.
For the record, Mexico's national football team has a negative record at World Cups anyway, not just it's 4 defeats out of 4 against Argentina.

In other countries it's a result of Argentina historically having had, until recent times, a bigger GDP than the rest of the continent added together, -and even during the ongoing 100%-inflation meltdown it still has better living standards than most- so it was easy for local tyrants (especially in Chile and Brazil) to stoke up resentment against Argentina to distract from their own shortcomings.

Right now there's been a law introduced to ban foreigners (mostly from China) from buying real estate in Canada, Lohrenswald.

meant america and canada in canamericaland, I get it's nonsensical

anyway to me that might be an indicator of the resentment I didn't know about, doesn't do much to explain it further
