I wonder if that map has a correlation with education? I've always read that the more education a person is on average they are significantly more likely to be depressed. That giant blob of red in the Mid-West likely proves that wrong. It seems to have no correlation to income either.

I wonder how that map looks compared to voting habits.

This week's The Economist.

Should've added eastern europe to have more variety in the price graph.

I don't believe the number include the masses of cheap whores, as the prices seem to be quite high.

Hmm. Interesting that Tokyo is so cheap; if I remember correctly prostitution is technically illegal in Japan, although people find ways around it, so I wonder if that has to do with anything.

They have Prague.

This weeks The Economist podcast covers this article extensively. I really enjoyed it. The concern here is that they only interviewed girls that services tourists and not the high end Japanese-servicing girls.

I recommend this week's podcast. It was good.

Given Sydney is right in the middle and New South Wales is one of the very few fully decriminalised (as opposed to legalised) jurisdictions in the world I don't think prohobition is having a particularly obvious effect one way or the other.

It's a shame they didn't also get Wellington or Auckland since NZ is the other decrminalised jurisdiction.

If Cosmopolitan counts, there's also "13 Ways to Drive Your Man Wild/Make Sure He Doesn't Cheat On You/Play hard-to-get-with-him/Do other things that probably don't work in real life but we're encouraging anyways to get more readers". I dunno how common that sort of stuff is in your average woman's magazine, though.
