Why in Egypt area along the Nile is yellow, while almost uninhabited deserts are green?

Why Poland is yellow?

Non-Protestant Europe is yellow... except Portugal, and Romania and Ukraine, and Ireland... and all the Catholic countries in Latin America are green.

Yeah... it's a weird map that makes zero sense. Then again, it was made by people who make zero sense.

Recently the Sideboob Gazette reinvolved itself in the art of politically correct obfuscation with graphs:

One Alissa Scheller made use of the recent AFL-CIO report on workplace fatalities with fun graphs like this:

The latter graph of course resulted in the Sideboob Gazette's commentator base decrying the horrible sexism.

What Ms. Scheller failed to tell her outraged audience, though, was the proportion of workplace deaths suffered by women and men:
92.4% to 7.6%

Of course this datum can be easily extracted from the actual report:

Total workplace fatalities in 2012:
men: 4277
women: 351

Homicides among these: 475
men: 376
women: 99

And of course African Americans are vastly more overrepresented among workplace fatalities (and workplace homicides in particular) than Latinos.

An entitled white woman screwing black men twofold in a misguided play for "social justice": Par for the course.

What I don't get is why South America is green. One look at Europe makes me think that green = protestant and yellow = wrong kind of christians deceived by Satan (or his agent on earth, the pope). I always though South America was motly catholic.

There's a lot of Christians in China, (missionary work for almost five centuries now) they're still a minority though.

Why Poland is yellow?

Atheising communism.

The density of 'Christians' there must be very low, and most of them are Greek Orthodox or Copts; in the desert, any single person would give you a spike in the density graph.

South America has a lot of protestantoid penetration in the form of small sects and churches, a few of which sound a bit like Scientology.
