D'Artagnan01: Low-level Training Day

Nice, smooth turns, CB.

One minor quibble; I'm wondering why you bothered with Airports? Unless I have a pressing need for veteran units, I don't build them because airstrips come maintainance-free. I know that in this case we are so awash with gold that it doesn't matter, but in so many games - especially at higher levels - every coin counts.
Didn't know what else to build. :(

No threats; Free Research Labs just a few turns away; don't need coal plants; what else was left?

I wasn't happy about making airports. They just seemed to be the least offensive bad choice.

On the plus side, this does let us build veteran aircraft, which will help keep the heathens at bay.

No worries, CB. It was a very minor quibble, and The Irascible Ancient Holy-Man may well disagree anyway. :)

If we were hurting for cash I would suggest building wealth, but we aren't. and since the shields have to go somewhere airports don't hurt, and as you say may help keep the sheep away from the door.

Haven't looked to see how far we are from starting space parts but you could sell a Stock Exchange and use its replacement as a prebuild.....

More than happy to take a turn. Maybe I'll find another "teaching" opportunity.

In the bin for tomorrow.

Two learning opportunities here:

I fumble fingered the turn Space Flight came in so I lost the prebuild for the Space Engine (640 shields down the tube) and you can't rush space ship parts (I suspected that but didn't want to spoil the fun).

Some things to keep in mind going forward. TacNukes make good pre builds for the cheap parts (160 shields). Lyons and Paris should be kept for the expensive ones (320 and 640 shields) Other than that it's whack a mole pollution clean up and you can spend the cash hoard however you like. Bumping up the luxury slider is always good as you get WLPD and cut the corruption and waste and there is enough room in the specialist assignments to do that without hurting the research pace.

Bring it on home boys! And look at the science output in Lyons:eek:

No, I'm as busy as a bee.

And I think I have another lingering cold.

Have a bad cold sore and laid down the whole afternoon when I got home.

The night was better. I was good for dinner and the local Christmas Carol production.

But it looks like I'm getting better.

I like this idea.

Looks like Bucephalus is in the barrel for ten turns of "minding the store" and "whack a mole"

OK, all.

GET CIVVING!

:gripe: :aargh: [pissed]

I can't speak for the others, but you have begun to irritate me.

You have barely participated in this game since it's inception despite being it's administrator; you contribute nothing to team discussions and appear to be on more-or-less permanent skip (you've played - what.....3 turns?). You nonetheless find time to register for numerous other games where the pattern of non-participation continues; your name has become a by-word for unreliability.

CBob, Bede and myself have kept this game alive; without our efforts it would have died months ago.

Yet, despite all this, you seem to think that you somehow have the right to shout at us for not filling in quickly enough for yet another skip.
Well, I take exception to being shouted at. I will once again remind you that this is your game; and the more you shout, the less inclined do I feel to play any further turns in it.
