[R&F] Devs Play as India

I can't wait for the livestream to be uploaded to YouTube.

I have problems with loading Twitch streams and I don't use a certain website whose logo is the lowercase form of the sixth letter of the Latin alphabet for obvious reasons.

Reminds me of the fact that Genghis Khan and Alexander rode a very similar horse in their leader screens...

EDIT: To clarify, I'm talking about Civ5.

I always suspected that Genghis in V was a reskinned Alexander. He looked too cheerful and the horses seemed similar.

Well, they had to placate Civ fans after the unmitigated disaster of a launch of Civilization 5. So, they threw out a free DLC with the Mongols in an attempt to pacify us. It would make sense that it was rushed and they just reskinned Alexander.

The new Chinggis Khaan, however. He is the man.

However, to me, Tamar looks like a re-skinned Tomyris.

Could be, could be. It would be a shame if they skimped like that.

Normally you take the same base model and reskulpt it, so I'd say all leaders use the same model. And Tamar is surely not just reskinned, because a lot of proportions and facial features are totally different.

The most close thing to reskin I've seen in the area is the Civ5 leader horses :)

So, to add fuel to the Inca fire:

Rayna the Financier is dressed like an Incan—especially her stylized earrings. Very interesting, since there is no trace of the Inca in the game... yet.

That was the exact thought I had, as well, when I saw the earrings. Lol.

Hope the Inka are in the expansion. It wouldn’t surprise me if they were saving them for last. Build up the hype.

Yeah, I'm not an animator but why would they possibly want to build the same base skeleton from nothing 40+ times?

No you don't. Re-sculpting is always smart since face components are same but proportions and such can change and you will have a different person.

Stopped watching at the unescorted Indian Settler. Still haven't fixed that yet, what a joke.

Watched the video after work, and R&F looks fun.

I'm really disappointed the Survey policy got changed to only give addition exp to recon units on exploration (not combat). This really hurts the Cree's UU.

I'm a bit scared the strong governor abilities (I.E. Magnus (+100% Chops) and Pangala (+20% science and culture yields)) will snowball too hard or increase the pace of the game too much.

What I am hoping is that the Era system will help balance that. If a Civ is teching too fast in a certain era, they will get penalties to science to preserve the pace. So, everyone will be in the same era or something remotely close to it.

Also, yeah, sorry to see the change to the Survey policy. :( Could be modded back, though, I suppose.

I assume the change is because of Cree UU. Otherwise, scout with free promotion and double experience would be too easy to reach +20 strength, which would be insane. Cree are already balanced around this.

I don't know about you, but 9 out of 10 times I don't escort my Settler either (and that's a conservative guess). Just because humans are a bunch of sociopaths that game the system and declare war to capture any unguarded settler while abusing that the AI doesn't do that doesn't mean it's a bad AI, it just means players are gaming the system. I mean, I guess you could say that they should be more careful of when to escort their settler or not, but seriously, stop blaming the AI when you're exploiting the rules.

Uh, we haven't seen anything regarding penalties?

(also I really, really hope we won't. Penalties are why civ 5 sucks.)

would be nice if a link to a recorded video on youtube appeared on first page.
