I believe it was the great philosopher Paris Hilton who said "Only fat people drink Diet Coke." So ahead of her time, she was.

So over weight people drink more diet coke? Because people who arn't over weight don't need to drink it.

Its like saying smoking patches cause people to smoke. Because more smokers use them than non-smokers

Also this girl i work with is really skinny and she drinks maybe 4L a day of normal coke. Iv asked her questions like "after exercise what do you drink?" "when you first wake up in the morning?" "With pills?" its all coke. I wonder if she brushes her teeth with it

I never understood the point of Diet drinks other than to make you think you're doing something health-conscious. They taste like stale ass and they're still not good for you. Drink the real garbage or drink water.
 
Diet soda tastes really bad so you have to eat more to compensate.

While i recall sensing that in the past, by now i have been drinking 'light' sodas for a few years, and they seem normal. The "regular" one does appear to have more sugar, but the light one also has a large amount of sugar anyway.

I suppose it is similar with people who used to smoke heavy cigarettes, then moved to light cigarettes and for a time did not feel anything, but later on it levels out and the heavy cigarettes now appear too irritating.

I'm with you.

My roommate is addicted to caffeine, but doesn't want the calories, so all he drinks is Pepsi max. I suggested he switch to caffeine pills or try to lose his habit, but I doubt that's going to happen.

But yeah, either drink the real stuff or be healthy. Otherwise you're just halfassing it or maybe even quarterassing it.
 
Coffee or tea, silly man. Black, not with 5lbs of cream & sugar in it.
 
I did very well when I switched to black. Now, it was along with some other lifestyle changes, but I dropped a good 25+ lbs in half a year. I'd recently 'climbed' my workplace's office tower for exercise and had (for fun) calculated my calories. Later that day, I was in a sloooow lineup at Timmie's and had time to read their nutritional menu. I was like "woah, my coffee will require me to climb the building twice more just to burn off!" and realized it was just easier to sate my addiction to caffeine with less flavor.
