DipNES 05 - Give One and Take Ten

Spring 1902

FRENCH COUNTERATTACK
The temporary French leader, Alfred (Dachspmg) Dreyfus, who had been previously imprisoned under suspicion of aiding the Germans (which, although false, later proved true), led a French counterattack into Marseilles, while at the same time protecting Paris. The Spanish have conquered the West Coast and are poised to reinvade Marseilles or invade Paris, though their intentions are unknown

CONFUSION IN THE NORTHERN WAR!
Confusion abounds in the Northern War, causing many difficulties. The Norwegians invaded Norway, expecting Russian aid to evict the English, however the Russians never came, leaving the English in power. The English attempted to leave Norway for the North Sea, with German aid, however they forgot to realise that they had told the Germans to help the Norwegian Sea troops invade the North Sea. Furthermore, the Norwegian Navy in Prussia were originally ordered to help defend landlocked Warsaw. There was a mutiny, the second in two years, the first coming after the order leaks, and they were the ordered to hold their ground, unsuccessfully as the Germans reconquered Prussia.

WAR OF THE MEDITERRANEAN
Austria and Italy are fighting again, despite an Italian Peace Treaty. They apologized to Austria, however they had deceitful intentions, invading Greece and Trieste yet again, however they failed to realise that if it didn't work the first time, why would the same moves work the second time around? Italian troops are ready to mutiny against their leaders while the Austrians advance towards Venice.

BALKAN CONFLICT AVERTED?
The Russians, though still fuming at Turkey about the loss of Rumania, made their peace with them and in fact helped defend Rumania from a potential Austrian invasion. The Invasion never came, as the Austrians are looking to the west to fight with Italy, leaving the Balkans surprisingly peaceful for the former Powder Keg of Europe.

PLEASE HAVE ALL OF YOUR ORDERS IN BY: 7:00 PM, SATURDAY AUGUST 30, 2008

The second two spoilers are to all intents and purposes empty.

Please drop me from France if you haven't already. I hope that it will not ruin my chances for being included in a possible future DipNES...? I didn't drop out because that I might have a lesser chance of being included in the future. I did my mistake and I do not have the skills to rebuild France myself.

I hope that it will be glorious in this game still :)

would anyone like to assume complete control of france? or must they be...nmr'ed constantly?

I guess I'll take over the Frogs. Woop-de-woop.

EDIT: Cool, I'm a Jew.

you have to admit, the situation is quite fitting. having played as germany, as dreyfus was suspected to, and he WAS on the fast track to command before his arrest.

WOULD EVERYONE DOUBLE CHECK THEIR ORDERS PLEASE?

I do NOT want a repeat of last turn...

22 hour warning, and only France, Turkey, Italy, Russia

have their orders in.

somewhat. I will give everyone this final chance now, to get their orders in before 9 PM EST tomorrow night (tonight). if they do not, I will not even get a sub, you will, unless you pm me a valid reason, simply be nmr'ed

Here is a requisite amount of trashtalk. Think of me as Symphony D., only killable despite my enemies, not due to them. :p

Fall 1902

SPANISH BLUNDER SAVES THE DAY FOR FRANCE
Alfred Dreyfus, new President of the Third Republic, had moved the capital to Marseille after Paris fell to Spanish invasion. He put half his army in charge of defending Marseille, but it would not have been enough, except they managed to capitalize on a Spanish mistake and successfully defend Marseille from invasion. While the Spanish originally planned a two-front invasion, from Catalonia and Piedmont, the Catalonians recieved the wrong orders and helped defend Piedmont instead of invading Marseille.

FRANCO-PRUSSIAN WAR, TAKE TWO
Dreyfus finally shed all cloud of suspicion of being a German spy when he launched an invasion of Munich. At first he was criticized for not defending Paris and invading someone new, however once the critics realized that Germany had invaded Belgium, they quickly accepted Dreyfus' plan and rule. The citizens of Alsace-Lorraine are becoming divided into the German camp and the French camp, with violence ensuing between the two. This war is expected to be much more vicious than the Spanish-French war simply based on decades of hate and resentment between the two nations.

SPANISH-ENGLISH WAR?
An all-out war between Spain and England seems inevitable after the attempted English invasion of Brest. Prime Minister Arthur Balfour was unavailable for comment about the upcoming war.

BRITISH-NORWEGIAN CEASEFIRE SIGNED
Although both sides were skeptical at first, Norway and England have signed a ceasefire and are in negotiations for a peace treaty, ending the bloody Northern War. While the Norwegians did not wind up leaving the North Sea, they made an attempt to, and did not invade London. The British defended Norway but did not attempt to advance further against them.

ITALIAN REVOLTS AGAINST SPANISH INVASION
Citizens of Piedmont and Tunis are revolting against Spanish rule. Tunis, which has many French and Italian citizens, and was de facto an Italian colony, has been invaded by Spain, while Piedmont was invaded in the Spring. The Italian citizens are threatening to topple the government unless something is done about this invasion.

THE GREAT BETRAYAL
Russia, former ally of Norway, has betrayed them by invading Livonia with German support. This, along with the English ceasefire changes the war to being Norway vs Russia, Germany as opposed to Russia, Norway vs Germany, England.

THE SOUTHERN WAR
Turkey has betrayed the Austrians in a move many were expecting. They convinced the Austrians that they were moving to the Ionian Sea, and got support for that, however instead they helped the Italians invade Greece. However, the Austrians were skeptical, and defended Serbia from the Turkish invasion. The Russians then invaded Rumania, where they were rebuffed, angering many Turks, who had just conquered it. It is unknown whether they were invited to a reception where punch was served or simply moved in of their own accords, but the answer to that question will surely change the face of Europe.

Fall 1902 Retreats:
Spoiler :
19027wg1.png

Norway F lvn (bot or disband)
Austria: F gre (alb or disband)

DEADLINE: ASAP FOR RETREATS.

OFFENSES:None the 2nd time around, since most people *cough*spain*cough* double checked orders. I recommend you all continue this practice from now on. also, if I cannot simply imput the orders into multiple orders on jDip, I will not be accepting them. so please only include necessary information on the LINE of the orders. anything you want to include otherwise is cool, just have a line of only the orders, ok? EXAMPLE

(type) (location) -> (new location) is good.
(type) (location) M -> (new location) is not because it does not recognize province M.
so move my units in (location), along with their support from (location) to (location) is DEFINITELY NOT COOL

if they are clear I will accept them, but at the same time it would make my life easier not to

NOTES: Chandrasekhar has taken over norway after Fuschia failed to turn in orders or notify me of a reason.

Hey Skeptikalz: I survived the year. Stick that in your pipe and smoke it. :p

Wait...shouldn't Serbia be under Turkish control and Rumania under Russian control? Austria never sent the order for the Army in Budapest to do anything...but you have it supporting Serbia. If there is some reason for this, explain. If not, can you please make it right?
