DoC Alternate History modmod Brainstorming Thread

Umm 1000 A.D. To go along your Islamic Europe, IMHO:

Arabia should have most of the peninsula, but no Babylon or Jerusalem, have Egypt, Libya, Sudan, and Ethiopia. Moors have everything west, including most of vassals Spain and/or Portugal, possibly having Sicily?

Moopsrs allies with Arabia, though vassalage might be be too much. France should be Islam, as well as HRE. I believe everything else should be Christan, but Italy and Poland would be heavily influenced by Islam.

Byzantine- Persian alliance

Byzantines would be waning a bit, still strong. They would have Jerusalem, Greece, Syria, and Anatolia
Persia would be very strong with Babylon, Samarqand and Merv, and Karchi, and maybe Lahore

My 2 cents..

How about we switch the roles between Arabians and Mongols?

-Mongols start in 630 AD and found Islam. They receive similar goals to Arabia.

-Arabia starts in 1200 AD and take Mongol's role of destroying civilization.

I propose the following:
*Moors control all Iberia (Cordoba (capital), Balabsiyah, Toledo, Marrakus, Wahran). Portugal spawns Islamic. No Spain.
*Vikings have their capital in Copenhagen, they control Oslo and Yorvik. No England (sweden spawns in 1680AD instead?). France controls Londre or Londoine.
*Byzantium is muslim (it was conquered by Arabia at some point). No christianity in Byzantine cities. Hagia Sophia is in Kiev.
*The catholic Kingdom of Jerusalem is in the game. Capital: Jerusalem, other cities: Babylon, Damasqus. All cities have catholicism and Islam.
*Russia: has capital at Kiev. Moscaw independent.
*Arabia: Capital at Mekka, controls colonies: east Africa (Muqdisho, Mombasa) and south India (Cochin). Egypt may be part of Arabia or an independent islamic state.
*Tibet: Controls Xian, Chegndu and Pagan.
*China: Kaifeng, Hangzhou (capital) and Guangzhou. Beijing, Qufu and Shenyang independent.
*Korea: Controls Fukushima.
*Mayans: Still alive and know Feudalism. They control Chichen Intza, Yax Mutal (capital) and Carracas.

Macedon defeats Rome and controls the Mediterranean, having a strong alliance with Carthage. Carthage advances as far as the Romans did in military (although weak in offensive attacks. Very strong navy), while the Greeks advances far beyond Rome did in culture and as far as them in military (but with units more prone to European hordes)
1) Spain controls northern Iberia and struggles fighting to push the Carthaginians out
2) The Franks attacking Carthage's northern Italy holdings. The Italian spawn around 1100 represents the Romans' fight for independence. Rome will be tough to take, however, as it has flourished under the Carthaginians and become a strong historical city for them.
3) Holy Roman Empire are a tribal opponent to the Franks (perhaps named the Cimbri?), spawning in Denmark and colonizing the British Isles. Britain does not spawn until Holy Roman Empire becomes unstable.
4) Poland represents Slavic tribes pouring into Eastern Europe. They become very powerful and equally rival the Macedon Empire.
5) Vikings and Russia spawn as normal, however Russia becomes Zoroastrian.
6) Armenia (as Byzantines) become prominent and are a vassal of Macedon
7) Catholicism becomes state religion of Macedon and Carthage (with Athens being the Papal city), however Armenia founds Orthodox Christianity, and splits from Macedon to take advantage of their weakened state from the Slavic tribes.
8) Arabia spawns as normal
9) Persia pushed far back by Armenia and Macedon. With Armenia's new found fervor for national strength, Persia signs an alliance with Armenia and adopts Orthodoxy. They move to successfully fight back the Arabs and colonize Russia.
10) Moors can respawn as Numidians if Carthage becomes unstable. Numidians adopt Islam. Numidians quickly adopt Carthage's strong navy and seafaring skills
11) When Mongols attack, the Russians agree to side with them if the Mongols adopt Zoroastrianism. Russia gains a powerful position in their core area; powerful enough to balance Poland's increasing power. Persia is weakened and eventually vassalized by the Mongols. However, Armenia will hold their line.
12) East Asia will be unchanged, although Islamic missionaries will focus more on Indonesian routes than they would if normal history proceeded. Islam becomes the imperial religion of Asia as opposed to Christianity.
13) Carthage is first to explore the Americas, but does not pop a conqueror event (as they probably collapse before 1300)
14) Arabic world colonizes the Americas where the Spanish did, while North America is primarily colonized by Viking and Numidian settlements.
15) America spawns as an independence movement from Numidians in the Lousiania area. Not democratic or secular, just another kingdom trying to achieve power.
16) Mughals flourish well into the modern age, stealing many colonies in the Pacific and Indian Ocean.

Tell me what you think! Fair assessment of a failed Rome?

Not bad! Right now, I'm compressing the Mod Folder.

I'll need to note a few things about the mod as soon as I officially release it.

Here is a photo example of Europe from my post above.

Royal, I don't think the Arabs should colonize America , since they're too far away. I think that they should expand to Australia instead of America.

I think the ''Cimbri'' should be an powerful civ, but with many opponents, making Central Europe,Baltics and GB a bloodbath between the Franks, Cimbri, Vikes and Poles.

edit: After the first turn, I meet every civ that exists

Yeah, I don't know what causes that problem. I think it is either the Apostolic Palace, because it gives votes to all civs, even non-Catholic civs, or it has something to do with the communications pools. I even asked Leoreth and he said that he didn't know what the problem was.

The mod's perfectly playable otherwise, but I won't be at home for the next 10 days, so I won't be able to examine any errors.

If you select a civ that requires autoplay, it spawns immediately at 500 ad with a warrior, no tech and no flip. The ai spawns work fine though.

To clarify, it's the AP that makes you meet everyone. But I don't know why everyone is an AP member.

Well most alternative but very possible would be survival of Roman empire, failed rise of Islam, sunset invasion by Azteks, native americans form a nation, succesfull napoleon empire, vikings form united goverment and stable mongol empire.

Ooooooh... That's a problem. I didn't test for that and I will not be at home until New Year's Day, so I can't fix it. Leoreth, do you know what the problem is?

There NEEDS to be an Aztec sunset invasion. I would love to try that out.

You could try going into the consts.py file and switching the old and new world civs then loading the 600 ad scenario and choosing the aztecs. Give them optics, civil service, and engineering and and in theory you could pillage europe with your SoD's of aztec conquistador heavy swordsmen/pikemen!

I have a feeling that the problem relating to the player not spawning as well as the loading dates error is somewhere in CvRhye or whatever it is called. Leoreth, did you encounter the same problem in the 1700 AD? Do you think that is where the autoplay and opening screen problems are?
