Either there is a God, or there isn't.

Atheist or otherwise?

I believe everything in the universe can be eventually explained. Gods were created to explain the unknown.

God does not exist
Athiests and Chirstians lose.

How do athiests lose if God doesn't exist?

I am Roman catholic. I believe God is divine in three persons known as Jessica Alba, Solid Snake and the Flying Spaghetti Monster.

Buddhists can be either theist or atheist, I believe, depending on which sect of Buddhism they are in. (Actually, isn't it more of a form of pantheism?)

Did you (we)? :rimshot:

First, the OP has yet to define 'God'. But, given certain parameters, I have to say 'maybe'.

Regardless, I think that morals tend to be theoretical exercises and societal norms. I have a friend who's into suspension (don't click if you get queasy), and when another friend saw a picture of him, the comment was "he shouldn't be doing that, it's wrong".

That was her gut feeling, but it's clearly not true. But because it was new and unusual to her, she felt like it was something that people shouldn't do. Her lack of empathy for the suspendor's would view assumed that he was wrong.

Other morals are due to consensus. We all prefer to live in a world where murder is discouraged, and so we view it as wrong.

And again, there are theoretical constructs, like, we can agree that self-sacrifice is a virtue.

Well, they say that because you both die, and are gone forever.

But the quarks and leptons that make up all of who and what you are aren't gone. :p

They mean their mental self, their soul or whatever.

Pah. Real men die by jumping into a pool of anti-matter. :p
Damn, I forgot about that option.

Even such an event will not have changed that fact that you existed. The 4D 'you' is a truth that cannot be ended.

Regardless, practical immortality (starting with the cure for aging) removes the despondency of eventual annialiation.

Do you have a quote of Buddha saying that? I always thought Buddhists believed that there was a source of creation but did not know if it was a God many Gods a Spaghetti monster or just a source of everything, rather than disputing the existence of God.

This pole is silly, belief or non belief in a God goes through black to two thousands shades of gray and then to white; it's a tad constricting.

I believe that there is a God he just made four thousand million planets with life and let them develop then picked the top 10 to rule over, unfortunately we were languishing in 300,938,383th place just behind the planet of the proselytisers of 4 million wrong religions and the now extinct planet of the idiots who incidently were the inspiration for the next planet in the series, or Earth as it is more commonly known. :)

I don't know about a single entity out there called 'god', but I beleive in something. Whether that's a god, an intangiable spirit, a force, or even just a universal 'current', I don't know. I guess that's agnostic, so I'm boycotting the poll ;)

I don't believe in God because of the impossibility to prove/disprove a certain God. I can easily state that, quoting Vbraun, that the universe and all of it's entity was created in a supernatural toilet flush, and you can not possibly disprove that.

Also, most people trying to convert me to Christianity use the argument that:

God does not exist
Athiests and Chirstians lose.

God exists
Athiests lose, and Christians win.

That argument is known as Pascal's Wager. And it really should read:
"God does not exist
Athiests and Chirstians don't lose. But don't win either."

Or even more accurate:

God does not exist:
Atheists; finite gain; Christians: finite loss.

God exists:
Atheists: infinite loss; Christians: infinite gain.

But, if God exists (not in the form that Christians want), but prefer people to believe in no God, over worshiping a false God (Christianity), then Christians lose, Athiests win.

It's not just Christianity or Athieism, but it can be Christianity, Atheism, Islam, Hinduism, Bhuddism, Indiginous Minor Religions, Greek Polytheism, Judaism, Scientology, Vbraun's Toilet Flushism, Alien Religions, or even that no one in the universe has gotten the correct religion.

Bingo.

How does that make you agnostic?
If I remember well (how can I forget, given the origin of the word?), agnostic means "the one that doesn't know something" and NOT "the one that doesn't believe something". Do you know something different?
