End of Empires - N3S III

Is it possible for larger nations to have an influence on how some of the smaller nation development. Since am close to both Trahana and Kothrai I was wonder if maybe I base my order were either nation has a hand in Zar upbringing.

A Proclamation to the Princes of the Ilfolk by the Prelate Kalle Nire of the Order of the New Illumination

Your priests have been chastised for the wickedness they have wrought upon the world, and your temple of blood has been thrown down in fire. Your men hide in the wilderness, and expect this should be their salvation from the arms of the Daharai. This is not so. My Baribai warriors champ at the bit to be unleashed, so that they might wreak havoc as once they did. But above all I am merciful, and I will allow you what peace remains between us.

My terms are thus, and I shall not change them: the islands of the Siru Pok and the Leli'i Pok shall without contest be ceded to my Republic, for these places are rightful homelands of the Baribai people, who fall under my protection. The port you name 'Pulensar' - and a tract of land about it, extending into the east - shall be ceded to my Republic, for I will not abandon my countrymen to the uncertainties of this southern land. Here I will garrison fighting brothers of my Order, and they shall defy you should you seek to come against them.

You will abandon your barbarities, foremost among them the unconscionable practice of human sacrifice. I will not force my faith upon you, but you shall be Righteous, and you shall be Mindful, or my rage will fall upon you as a furious storm, and you shall be put to the sword. You shall forswear any further expansion upon the eastern seas, for they are not your domain, but mine. Travel as far west as you desire. I care little for those places.

With one hand I take from you, but with the other I give. Should your merchants and traders come in peace they may continue to avail themselves of my port - a port I shall make much greater than any this island has seen - and their goods shall be bought at fair price. Likewise shall your people be protected from the oppression of foreign power, for under threat of war the Daharai shall allow no other purchase upon this island. So that your people do not suffer unduly, we shall grant to you each year a stipend of grains and yams that they might be fed.

Our authority is vast, and you know only a small fragment of its totality. Do not defy it.

OOC: This is the territorial settlement my Prelate is proposing.

To: the Satrap of Tesach
From: the Exarch Eres Etrienon, in the name of the Red Chamber and the People of the Republic

Altaro Javan has abandoned you, and the Nahari Emperor who seeks to take his place makes war upon your brothers. It is no secret that he covets your lands, but I would not suffer that Tesach should fall, and so I offer you the protection of Daharai arms. Swear yourself to the Red Chamber as our Satrap, and you shall have this protection. We have no interest in stripping you of your sovereign privileges, save that you make no war without the blessing of the Red Chamber - for by these terms any war would bind us to intervene. The Aitahists of your land may remain free in their practice, should you desire it. We will not enforce the imposition of artekais as is done elsewhere.

Our offer arrives absent threat. Take it up, or let it lie upon the ground. Whichever you should prefer.

North King, I've got a pretty good idea of what I want to do with Nakista. Before I can do it, however, I'm going to need to know what kind of income Nakista has right now- how much profit we've made from my ruler's efforts.

OOC: TheMeanestGuest, I can't IC accept that settlement, nor will I have anything OOC to do if I do. If I accept the peace, that's like leaving the NES.

I personally don't think we are quite ready for the ET yet. The ongoing conflicts with the Airani/Gallatenes, the Vithanama/Trahana, and the situation in the South still need definitive resolution.

And given how things stand now, the last update isn't likely to be 'mini' in any sense of the word.

Traveling today, diplomacy tomorrow.

I'd be willing to work it out during the ET, but I don't know if I'll remain as the Vithanama to do it.

Maybe y'all could work it out.

Your wish is my command.

IC:

Lord Protector Caron Nuvor and the Rosh Ibala announce that an accord has been reached, to end the strife that has recently pained the body of the Faithful. Its points are these:
Spoiler :
The Rosh Ibala repents of his crimes against the Faith, regrets being led astray by evil councilors, and desires to make amends. The Rosh Ibala will therefore ensure that the points of this accord are carried out, and then will make peregrination to beg forgiveness of the High Ward, after which he will retire into contemplation and pass the rule of the Airani Roshate to his heir.

The former Ward Kohrdi omm Ahala, chief of those councillors who led the Rosh from the Way, will be delivered along with his compatriots into the custody of the Faith. He will be tried in the Light for his crimes against the Nahsjad and the Faithful, and he will meet whatever fate the High Ward finds just.

That part of the country of Occara under the rule of the Rosh Ibala, having been seized unjustly at the conclusion of the Great Ordeal, will revert to the Lord Protector Caron Nuvor, its lawful ruler.

The Faithful in the Jadhai will accept the decisions of the Synod of Sirasona and thus be welcomed back with open arms, and strife will never again part them from us.

The Lord Protector Caron Nuvor shall assist the Roshate with the sum of 1,000 [UNITS], to aid in the education and protection of the people and as proof of his goodwill towards the Nahsjad.

Gallat and the Airani Roshate shall reaffirm their ancient amity and alliance, and swear to eternal friendship and cooperation in the pursuit of the defense and advancement of the Faith.

Signed,
Caron Nuvor, Lord Protector of Gallat

Would it be possible for me to join as a city state, north of Kyumai? If so, can someone give me some info on the region?

Yeah, I can tell you about the region via PM. I'll try to write one up over the next week (but it's break and I'll be out and about, so no guarantees). Like many (but not all) off-map regions, plenty of stuff can be decided by you.

Both of those, and the Kothari, would probably have some influence on you, yeah.

I can give you an income estimate, but keep in mind -- and this should be noted by everyone -- there are no spending orders during the ET.

The time-frame is way too long to have that make sense.

(You can always tell me the rough proportions of your spending in any given time period, though.)

Basically, yes, I want a broad estimate if that's alright.

EDIT: As I'm trying to learn Nakitsa bit by bit, could somebody please tell me about Katka culture? I'm going to need to know this stuff to decide how to proceed.

Well, Katka sort of got invaded by the Lesans(my uppermost colony was Katkan land) I sort of weakened the Southern half of your area and caused your people to form a nation. It is REALLY young as a nation. and no, I will not be invading you since you are now united, and my people actually assassinated the king who led the army into Katkan territory beyond the colony.

@NK I would also like to know generally how much my income increased(albeit probably little) as well. Just as a starting basis for my ET orders.

If you want, I can join in a different region, if you would recommend it

There is no established Katka culture whatsoever. That I know of. They like us, though, so expect cultural influence.

If you like, I don't mind co-ruling Nakitsa with you. If you really want I don't even mind you taking them over- the main reason I'm still playing them right now is that I'm damned curious how sucessful/unsucessful my reforms were for creating new tax income.

EDIT: To clarify I'd prefer not to do that, but that's primarily because I'm curious to try co-playing an NES as I haven't done that in a while.

...

Neverwon, he was responding to NK saying that NK will need to spend time writing a PM for spacey.

I know that, but he was suggesting he could join in a different region. Maybe I made a small mistake there, but I thought my response was in-context.

EDIT: In retrospect, apologies if I was a little rude.
